"I took my kid there in October 2014 for a belly pain. It turned out to be an appendicite. He was admitted urgently, had a surgery within 2 hours. Everything went smoothly. I went on other occasions. Sometimes I had to wait for more than an hour, but that was fine. They have professional staff."

"Unfortunately, my experience was very poor. The waiting time was approximately 4–5 hours. During the IV infusion, the drip was not stopped in time, which caused blood to flow back into the tubing. I observed that this also happened to other patients. Most of the medical staff I encountered appeared to be very young and still in training. During this time, patients were clearly in distress, which made the situation feel unprofessional and uncomfortable. Despite being a large hospital, the overall level of care did not meet my expectations. I have received significantly better medical care in Hungary and in other countries. On a positive note, I would like to highlight the kindness and helpful attitude of the security staff, who treated patients with respect and empathy. The only other positive aspect of my visit was the radiology staff — both the man and the woman performing the X-ray were professional and respectful."

"I visited the AKH emergency department because I was experiencing significant throat pain. Before checking in, I asked the staff member at the front desk several times if I was in the right place, as I did not want to take attention away from patients in more urgent situations. The receptionist was kind and reassured me that it was fine to proceed since I was in pain. I was first seen by a general doctor, who explained that I needed to be examined by an ENT specialist. I followed her instructions and went upstairs to the ENT department. However, when I was called, the doctor came out into the hall, looked at my throat pitifully without even letting me enter the room, told me I shouldn’t have come there, and dismissed me abruptly. I tried to explain that swallowing and eating were very painful, but she didn’t listen. I don’t know if it was because I’m a foreigner or because my German isn’t perfect, but I still pay for my health insurance like everyone else, and I believe I deserve to be examined and treated respectfully. I completely understand that hospital staff work under great pressure and deal with many serious cases. My intention was never to bother anyone unnecessarily — I even confirmed at the front desk that I was in the right place. Still, I left the hospital crying, in pain, and feeling disrespected. I sincerely hope other patients who ask for help politely and in genuine discomfort will be treated with more understanding and compassion."

"The Vienna General Hospital (AKH) is the city's university hospital and the Medical University of Vienna. It's the fifth-largest hospital in Europe. Founded in 1686, Emperor Leopold I ordered its construction, with the first ward completed in 1697 to house 1,042 patients. We attended presentations on CT protocols and CT Body by Andreas Strassl, with contributions from Dr. Dietmar Tamandl and Prof. Christian Herold. Dr. Michael Arnolder presented on PACS, and Dr. Stefan Nemec discussed head and neck cases. Martin Schönthaler and Franziska Mally, from Vamed Engineering and Vamed Education and Training, respectively, welcomed the event. Overall, it was an enjoyable and informative visit."

"I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Oliver Stroble and his entire medical team at 21D, plus the ICU nurse. Dr. Stroble is always straightforward and effective, yet approaches my care with genuine warmth and compassion. During my Surgery and recovery at AKH, his team was consistently attentive, professional, and deeply caring. Every interaction reflected their thoughtfulness and dedication to patients. For both of my surgeries within two months at AKH, what stood out most was their confidence combined with wholehearted care. As an English-speaking patient, I felt safe, supported, and truly well cared for."
