"I' ve been taking my mother for acute glaucoma treatment for 1.5 years and we absolutely regret it. It's always a long wait and the chairs are too low for someone old like my mother (and majority of the patients) to get up from. It's unorganised with unnecessary admin and waiting times. But, the main issue is, the doctor lacked professionalism, empathy and skills. He would just come in to see her and say "what's up?" (Τι χαμπαρια). My mother is 80 years old and has a serious case of glaucoma, and we would have required more time to discuss treatment and respect on the gravity of the situation. He's been giving her eye drops that didn't work and at the end told her that she has no options and that she will lose her eyesight. He told her that blatantly, in 1 minute appointments and left the room. Then he offerer her some expensive surgeries with weekly follow ups that are invasive, which he had previously claimed were inexpensive therapies. This guy is the director and considered to be the top eye doctor there, bear in mind We went for a second and third opinion and the other doctors said that it's a shame we ve been taking ineffective eye drops for glaucoma for 1.5 years and that if we had gone elsewhere, my mother would have a high chance of a successful surgery and she would have retained a big part of her vision. Another thing to note, that doctor gave wrong advise about eye drops and told her to come back for a check up 6 months later, when she should have gone at least monthly. We ended up going to the state eye hospital in Sina which was excellent. Great doctors and she had a successful surgery and the glaucoma is stabilised. She's had weekly check ups since then to ensure the eye pressure remains low. The doctors in the state hospital take more time to examine her and discuss her issues than that private clinic in Glyfada. In short, avoid, avoid, avoid! And that doctor who says "τι χαμπαρια" to a woman about to lose her eyesight should really rethink why he became a doctor. Disgraceful and shameful!"

"Suffered an eye problem whilst on holiday. Managed to get an 8am appointment at the Athens Eye Hospital. Was examined by nurse on various bits of high spec kit and doctor told me I had a retinal tear. Had laser treatment straight away and was back at my hotel by 11am. Able to fly home after a check up at the AEH 4 days later. Couldn’t fault the treatment. Goes to show a few quid on travel insurance is money well spent."

"One of the doctor in this hospital; Miss Kouri is the eye specialist who made me feel the most confident so far; among my experiences in Athens and Thessaloniki. She speaks English. She listens to all complaints, examines the symptoms in detail, explains the causes and consequences. I am neutral about the hospital, the way it treated me. And honestly, regarding the prices, I think relatively expensive; but from now on I will only close an appointment for Miss Kouri in this hospital for my eye problems."

"I recently visited Athens Eye Hospital for LASIK Eye Surgery, and my experience was excellent. The staff were extremely helpful, and their instructions were clear and easy to follow. Dr. Gerasimos Rallatos performed the surgery flawlessly, and the entire team demonstrated exceptional professionalism through and through. I wholeheartedly recommend their services."
