"My friend has been hospitalised for three days without any reason at all, she had a food poising and they keeping her to get money out of the insurance... Don't even talk about the "Doctor" he's nowhere to be found since day one... He's coming three days now, any minute he'll be here... Worst private clinic in Athens at best!"
"IF YOU DIDN'T HAVE COVID YOU WILL PROBABLY GET IT HERE. The covid test center in the airport is terribly organized. There are no organization and you wait in narrow corridor without ventilation. If have the possibility avoid."
"Outside the hospital there is a designated parking space, however it gets full very fast so be persistent with the parking guy. Inside the hospital, the entrance is guarded by a person to help direct you to where you need to be. There is also, an international reception desk. Everything is well signed posted. Very clean. Comfortable leather couches in the waiting area which has multicoloured fairy lights in the ceiling that change colour. Its very calming, although it is very busy. Our doctor/surgeon was very helpful."
"I’d imagine the care in ancient Greece was better than at the Athens Medical Center. I broke two wrists and had a pretty bad experience here. First, I was flying the day after my accident. Given that I had significant swelling, it’s a best practice that you cut a cast to prevent blood clots. My doctor refused. I had to go to a second hospital, where they agreed it would be unsafe for me to fly without cutting the cast. My doctor in the US concurred that it was absolutely the right call to insist on having it cut. Second, the orthopedist who saw me said he would need to pull my wrist to realign it and it would only hurt for a few seconds. 30 minutes later, I was still in tears. He wouldn’t give me a painkiller and insisted I wasn’t actually in pain. I could’ve endured the pain if it was necessary but my doctor in the US told me later there was no way given my break that it could’ve been realigned that way. I couldn’t help but feel he was only doing this to charge for before and after x-rays. Third, the orthopedist told me I would likely need surgery on my right wrist and not my left. Turns out that not only did I not need it on my right, but I needed it on my left. Good thing I didn’t let him operate. Finally, they have a ridiculous payment system. You have to pre-pay for every test and procedure. I would’ve been happy to give my card and settle when I left. Instead, I kept having to leave the treatment room to wait in line to pay for every incremental cost. This probably happened 10 times while I was in intense pain. What a joke."
"This bunch of idiots organize the covid rapid test in the international airport of Athens with only 2 (two) operators to do the actual work (but 4 to take payments). It takes 2 hs for a 10' work and then people miss their flights. Update Furthermore: thieves. They do tests to kids under 12 even though not necessary."
