"Last year I went in to get veneers. I was attended with care and attention and very happy with my results. So much so that I recommended my family to use Dr Cabrera. I was particularly happy with the natural approach to dentistry which is hard to find. So my family booked a trip specifically to get work done at this dentist, and ended up being disappointing. The quality of work was great. But there was a lack of transparency from the clinic’s side. The day we arrived it seemed like news that we wanted specific procedures done.m, yet we booked these flights over 3 months before… so it was concerning. The price they were charged us after skyrocketed without disclosure of “price changes” from the time we got quotes and booked the trip, etc. They diagnose you and decide for you what you will get done and they don’t make a good enough attempt at informing you and getting your Vincent- failing to disclose additional costs for things that they deem necessary. For example, my father in law was given a teeth guard- which he never asked for, and can’t use because it hurts his kith, and got charged… well, we don’t know how much. There’s a language barrier. We were handed a hand written piece of paper with a number to pay… The lack of transparency resulted in costs over $6,000 CAD which was not expected at all from the estimate provided. Our trip budget was… gone. But what does one do? I don’t feel like my referral was appreciated. So when bringing up these concerns (after paying) and asking for disclosure of itemised costs, we were told to “let it go, health is the most important”. Yes health is important but putting my entire trip budget towards this, with no disclosure of costs is also important. To this day we don’t know what procedure cost what price. It seems this depends on where you’re from. So in summary, they are good at what they do, but there is a lack of professionalism in how business in handled. No listed prices, no regard for follow up concerns, no communication or disclosure, no itemised receipts. Only justifications. I hope this doesn’t happen to someone less fortunate or in a tough financial situation. Ask questions, be informed, and know it will cost you more than 80% of dentists in Cancun."

"I've been there 3 times now. I have a lot of trauma from past dentist experiences but they were very friendly and put me at ease straight away. They spoke great english so my poor Spanish was never an issue. I got 2 cavities removed the first time, another one done the 2nd time (I asked if the price was the same when i booked and they said yes, turns out it had gone up and they forgot to tell me but honoured the original price from our messages) and wires removed from the back of my teeth and nerve repair treatment the 3rd time. I wish I had a Biological Dentist back home (New Zealand), it would've saved me a lot of teeth/health issues over the years if i'd had this kind of information sooner. Their knowledge is invaluable. Definitely recommend."
