While I don't suggest breaking your collarbone in the middle of your Costa Rica vacation, if for some reason you do need orthopedic surgery, Dr. Roig Zamora and Hospital CIMA have my highest recommendation. p.s. In case you don't speak Spanish: Drs. Roig Zamora, Boniche and Gustavo, as well as many of the nurses and support staff, all spoke excellent English."

"I cannot recommend Dr. Pedro Roig enough. I suffered a base of the 5th metatarsal fracture on December 24th, and he was the on-call emergency physician who treated me that afternoon. From the very beginning, his approach was pragmatic, direct, and incredibly reassuring. He explained that surgery was an option, but told me honestly: “If this were my own foot, I would not operate — I’m confident it will heal on its own.” That clarity and confidence made a huge difference for me.
