"If anyone is considering giving birth at this hospital but is unsure, I want to share my experience so that it is clear: this is not a mother-and-baby-friendly hospital. I had a planned C-section scheduled for July 4th, but on July 2nd I went into labor and went to the hospital after calling my doctor. While monitoring the baby’s heartbeat, they said they also wanted to check cervical dilation. During the examination, the midwife caused bleeding. The stretcher and my clothes were covered in blood. I panicked and kept asking what was happening, but they just said it was “normal” without giving me any explanation. Later, my doctor arrived and decided to proceed with delivery immediately. When they asked me to stand up to go to the operating room, a large blood clot fell to the floor and my lower body was covered in blood. Terrified that something had happened to my baby, I was crying and panicking as they took me into surgery. Despite repeatedly asking what was going on, no one explained anything. After the birth, in the recovery room, they placed my baby on my chest for skin-to-skin contact. At that moment, a midwife came to help with breastfeeding. After just a couple of attempts, she said, “your nipples are small, the baby can’t latch,” and gave me a nipple shield. At the time, I didn’t know what it was or the problems it could cause later, so I accepted. Only later, when working with a lactation consultant, did I learn that I had no physical issue preventing breastfeeding, but rather I had encountered an uninterested and/or inexperienced midwife at the hospital. Later, we were moved to our room, but no midwife ever came to check on us or the baby. After midnight, I asked my husband to go find a nurse because no one had come, and I needed guidance on things like how long to breastfeed. The hospital’s brochure had promised regular visits and support, but in reality, no such care was provided. The five days we spent in the hospital felt like a nightmare. I was trying hard to breastfeed, but the midwives gave me no support. When I asked for help, they came with unhappy faces, stayed only briefly, and left. I asked them to show me different breastfeeding positions, thinking maybe the baby would latch better in another way, but all I ever heard was: “your nipples are small, just continue with the nipple shield.” Because the nipple shield prevented effective sucking, my milk came in late. This delay led to neonatal jaundice risk for my baby, and we had to start formula. I didn’t want to use bottles and asked for alternatives. I requested a nursing system, but they said it was unavailable. I suggested feeding with a syringe, but they told me, “you won’t be able to do this at home anyway, just use the bottle,” and didn’t support me. Looking back, I realize they simply didn’t want to support any method that would require them to spend extra time or effort. When I asked for a pump to increase my milk supply, the midwife reacted harshly and said it wasn’t necessary. However, I insisted. She handed me the pump in an unfriendly manner without even explaining how to use it, and told me I could look up the instructions online before leaving the room. It took us 25 days to stop using formula and the nipple shield and to transition fully to breastfeeding. Instead of enjoying the most precious early days with my baby, I spent them stressed, trying to overcome problems caused by the hospital’s inadequate care. The only positive part of this experience was being able to hold our baby safely in our arms. Everything else, I wish I hadn’t gone through."
"My baby girl was born here in February 2023 via c-section. The surgery went perfectly well, the aftercare was empathetic and did their job perfectly. My stay the next few days was challenging for me and I believe for the staff as well. I never expected to be such an emotional wrack after giving birth. The staff though were awesome. They reacted patiently and empathetic to any request I had even in the middle of the night. They gave me back the feeling that everything will be alright. A year and a half later, when reflecting on these few days, I am grateful to everyone at the clinic for showing so much understanding and being so supportive."
"Super! Schnell, freundlich, gründlich. This place is great. Even if one walks in with no appointment (but with an Überweisung from one's Hausarzt of course) the waits are short, the technicians and doctors are friendly and professional and the atmosphere is good. It's probably also possible to do this privately."
"Excellent hospital. My son was delivered here today. Midwife was angel, staff very helpful. Beautiful birth. Thank you so much Teresa and team ❤️"
"We had a very positive experience at this hospital From the medical team to the nurses and staff, everyone was supportive, professional, and kind. The room was clean and comfortable, and we felt well cared for throughout our stay. Thank you for your dedication and care."
"Recepcionist was rude and somehow treating us like we didn't have the resources to stay or pay the services there, the nurses went one or two times to check my son out of surgery and then didn't ever care or pay attention, they didn't explain anything of the procedures. The hospital is in a very good shape, your staff is not so good, you have across the street the St Anna Hospital, you can check there what a good patient care for children's is. I hope you improve"
