"Great experience with Dr Jorge Pon (Orthopedic) and his team! I came in with a wound to my ankle, they helped me quickly and thoroughly. Their English is great. Dr Pon was very helpful and knowledgeable, with excellent bedside manner."
"I had bone fusion surgery this April. I have had several surgeries outside of Portugal and this was my first here in Portugal. I was extremely impressed and had the best experience. I was treated like a Queen. The doctor was very knowledgeable and communicated with me from start to finish. Even visited me after surgery at the end of the day to tell me how everything went. The anesthesiologist was so calming. She was kind and calmed any nervousness I had going into the surgery room. In fact my last memory before the surgery began, was laughing. I really appreciate the staff and unfortunately have to do this surgery again on my other foot but knowing this team at this hospital will be taking care of me again, I am at peace. One more thing. I read about reviews that the food was bad. WHAT!! The food was amazing!!! Breakfast??? Well in Europe in general it is nothing big anywhere you go but wow lunch and dinner were the greatest. My husband offered to bring me food from outside hospital and I refused due to my 1st meal being so amazing. After going home, the doctor stayed in Close communication with me scheduling me often to change bandage and look at my incision. Great experience, never had a long wait and the recovery staff was great. I really hope this post brings up the hospital review score because they really deserve a 5 star."
"I have been going here for about four years. Good doctors exist, but on average the professionals here are very dismissive of patient concerns, even when backed with evidence. The lowlights include: - Meeting with the HEAD of the psychiatry department, and paying out of pocket for the privilege, where he told me "ADHD doesn't exist" (this is after we were discussing how ADHD is genetic, which he agreed). - Today, while sick, Dr. José Fortuna cut my appointment off halfway through and told me he couldn't continue because "it's uncomfortable for me". I speak B2 Portuguese, and it's true I stumble with specialized medical words, but the doctor refused to provide me care and address the reasons I came to him that day (while quite sick) because I'm not fluent in Portuguese. - I've had 3 different experiences where I waited for 3-4 hours to see a doctor despite having an appointment. The most recent one, last week, the doctor simply never came to work (Dra. Mafalda Barroso). No one in the reception area thought it would make sense to inform the patients waiting for appointments with that doctor. So while sick, I waited for hours for someone who was simply never going to appear. I'm switching hospitals, save your time. This is no way to be treated when you're sick."
"had read some of the negative reviews beforehand, and I can understand where some of those concerns might come from. However, my personal experience was quite positive overall. I had a family doctor appointment, and from the moment I arrived, things went smoothly. The people in the hallways were helpful and approachable, and the hospital reception and number system were well organized and efficient. The doctor I saw was also great—professional and attentive. After the appointment, booking a follow-up through the main reception was very easy and quick, which I really appreciated. I was also thankful that the staff were willing to switch to English, as my Portuguese is still a work in progress. That made the whole experience much more comfortable. Overall, a good experience."
"This hospital is money making machine even doctor has no responsibility. Even tests are more expensive. They give you suggestion like this way you have to come back here, specially when you go Luz without health insurance, i am the sufferer. I leave there without treatment. Everything is highly expensive when you look it from middle class eyes. So I am sad, i can't give less than one star, i am sad."
