"This is an excellent hospital. I would recommend it to anyone having an emergency or medical issue in Cancun. I went in the middle of the night and there was no wait. The doctor saw me right away. The nurse and doctor were a bit tired but that’s to be expected at 3 in the morning! The doctor spoke with me about my kidney issues for about 10 minutes, ordered some tests and then sat with me and explained all the results and why I was in pain and gave me a follow up plan. Doctor Moreno was excellent and the entire consultation was less than $200 US. The front desk staff helped me a lot and answered all my questions. I highly recommend this hospital."

"I came at 3am, could not talk, barely breath and in a lot of pain. I had gone to the Similares cheap walk in doctor for 75 pesos and got a wrong prescription 😂 but Playmed took great care of me. My doctor and all the nursing staff were great and could see I needed help badly. It cost $150 all up for an emergency visit over several hours so totally reasonable!! Thank you so much to all the staff!! I wanted to let you all know it’s now two days later and finally I’m feeling strong and well again 🫶🫶🫶was going to bring a thank you gift but figured this review is probably worth more 😂 thanks again!!!"

"Went to Cancun for vacation and unfortunately became extremely dehydrated and couldn’t keep liquids down, so I had to check into the hospital. Front desk people definitely overcharge for tourists, but I still proceeded with treatment . Doctor was extremely nice and spoke English very well, so I felt there was no miscommunication. I received an IV in my wrist and felt much better about 3 hours later. However, the nurse who gave me an IV, unfortunately did something wrong. Because after returning to the United States, just 2 days after receiving the IV, I was feeling pain in the same arm where I received the IV. Now I know it’s common for there to be soreness after receiving an IV, but my arm started swelling and became painful to bend. I took some pain meds and iced it myself, but I was still feeling discomfort. I decided to go to Urgent Care after almost a week of swelling and pain. The doctor noticed right away that my arm had swelling and how my arm was “positioned” I was facing discomfort. After a few tests he stated that I had phlebitis, which is an inflammation in the vein caused by an infected IV line. He gave me prescriptions to help with the pain and inflammation. So, for anyone receiving an IV from this hospital, just beware, you may receive phlebitis. Definitely don’t think it was intentional, just very unfortunate that this was the outcome. Doctors and nurses were very nice though!"

"🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 10/10 Highly Recommend! While vacationing in Cancun, I unfortunately suffered from severe dehydration and had to visit the emergency room at Playamed Hospital. From the moment I arrived, the care I received was absolutely outstanding. The doctors and staff were incredibly professional, kind, and attentive—they made a very stressful situation feel manageable and safe. They acted quickly, explained everything clearly, and made sure I was comfortable throughout the entire process. As a tourist, I was nervous about needing medical care abroad, but Playamed exceeded all expectations. I’m so grateful for their compassion and expertise. If you ever find yourself needing medical attention in Cancun, I can’t recommend this hospital enough. 🙌 Thank you to the amazing team at Playamed Hospital—you truly made a difference! 💙"

"I had tripped and fell due to an uneven concrete lid in a sidewalk. Xrays revealed that my femer was cracked. The only available qualifed orthopedic surgeon was at Playa Med Cancun. Surgery was completed with no problem, and I spent 5 days in recovery. Later, I found that this was also a teaching hospital and that my surgeon, Dr. Sanchez was a premier orthopedic surgeon from Cuba."
