"My husband was seen in the Emergency Department after a head injury. He was cared for by Dr Elizabeth Alorso Quesode and Dr Diana Cortelloroe with excellent care. His nurse from the Emergency Department was Jario Gonzalez who was fantastic! He was compassionate and caring with great skills of nursing. Excellent nurse!! Thank you also to Nurse Gerssell Orlin for your care. The care was excellent. My husband stayed until evaluated by the neurosurgeon the next day. Appreciative to all during this visit. This was a very clean hospital setting where we received great care while visiting in Mexico for our vacation."

"One of the worst experience I’ve ever had. As somebody coming from United States, hoping to feel comfortable and safe we were not. My son had a head injury needed a few stitches and wanted to charge us $4000. Didn’t check insurance didn’t check if he had a concussion, nothing and refuse for us to speak to any higher-ups do not ever go to this private hospital."

"A rip off for tourists, as travel insurance is behind. Overheard other people in the emergency unit being asked to pay $40,000, another $12,000 for minor procedures. I had food poisoning at the presidente intercontinental hotel; the onsite doctors recommended Hospiten. After 2 hours of IV drip, I was asked to pay under $2,000, and if I hadn’t spoken to my insurance company it would have gone up to $5,000 instead, as they wanted me to be hospitalised only to perform additional tests and have me waiting in a private hospital room for results. Completely unnecessary! And so I asked to be discharged, had the blood tests performed and asked for these to be sent via email. The receptionists doesn’t keep patients informed of costs as the process advances, whether is a personal or insurance cost, and appears to be abusing the fact that most tourists have travel insurance. Unnecessary waiting times and medical bills that out of proportion. They should be removed from pre approved lists for insurance policies at least for tourists. If you end up at this hospital, keep an eye on costs and ask in advance estimated costs. Help manage the approval process with your insurance company to avoid unnecessary costs. And once quote check with other hospitals in the area for comparison. Whilst a tourist is unlikely to go to a public hospital, it is worth considering for minor injuries. For instance the Red Cross ( I wish I had done that)"

"I was on vacation in Cancun Mexico for one week. Unfortunately I had to go to the emergency department at Hospiten Cancun during my stay. However, I was very fortunate to receive excellent treatment and care from the nursing staff at Hospiten Cancun, as well as the physician and specialist. I would highly recommend others to come to this hospital if they need help. I was assessed and treated by Dr. Jose Gonzales (ophthalmologist) and I would like to recognize him especially for his expertise, professionalism, amazing bedside manner and knowledge. Thank you very much Hospiten Cancun, administrative staff, nursing staff and Dr. Gonzales!"

"We visited this hospital after my wife, Linda, slipped and fell at our resort, hit her head, and required stitches. The resort sent us here, which initially felt a bit strange since we passed another hospital on the way that had better online reviews. That said, this was the facility we were directed to. Our experience after payment was very good. There was no wait for us, and Linda was seen quickly. She received 11 stitches and a CT scan, and the staff we interacted with were professional and attentive. We paid approximately $5,000 USD, which we were able to cover at the time. Out of curiosity and caution, I called another nearby hospital with stronger reviews to compare CT scan pricing, and this hospital was actually cheaper than the closer alternative...so I don’t feel we were overcharged or hustled. The reason I’m not giving five stars has to do with something we witnessed while waiting. A man arrived bleeding from the back of his head and showing signs of nausea. He was told there would be a 40-minute wait before anything could be done. While I understand systems and triage can be complex, seeing someone in that condition was concerning and hard to ignore. I can’t speak to other reviews or experiences, but based on ours: we were treated well, efficiently, and professionally once payment was made. Still, that moment impacted my overall impression and is the reason for four stars instead of five."
