"Had the most amazing experience, being away from home in a foreign country for surgery is daunting, the the staff here are absolutely amazing and so reassuring, room 212 looked after me so well, best experience, thankyou all so much."

"Stayed here overnight after a surgery. Giving 2 stars for a few of the lovely nurses who looked after me. Otherwise this place needs to be reported to the authorities for not maintaining patient's right to basic privacy and modesty. The room I stayed in had 3 beds and no curtains between the beds. The male visitors were asked to leave when personal care was being done, but it felt so awkward to have someone clean you in front of another patient. During the pre-operative chest Xray a male radiographer asked me to take off my top while he was standing there in front of me. There was a female in the room, but it felt like outraging of modesty to be asked to strip in front of a male. Daytime nurses are ok, but at night they will barge in and do what they need to do, very roughly. My hand still hurts from the extravasation of fluid into the soft tissues due to the IV cannula being blocked. They will also slam the door very loudly after that and prevent the patient from resting. Will never stay in this hospital again. Unprofessional!!"

"The staff were friendly, polite, serious and accommodating. I was nervous about my surgery and they made me feel much less nervous, even made me laugh. In general I felt very well taken care of. Great job IASO"

"Generally okay experience but there were some issues I couldn't overlook. The staff seemed to genuinely care about the mothers and babies. However, the wards were understaffed. My roommates and I had to wait a long time for anyone to respond to the buzzer - which at one point meant I went several hours with painkillers after my c section. Some of the hospital practices aren't in the patients' best interest either. For example, admissions refused to let my husband stay with me for a series of invasive checks but kept letting random people into the room and leaving the door to the busy corridor open. Overall the standard of care was good but I felt like my baby and I were on a conveyer belt at times."

"I gave birth at this maternity hospital because my doctor practices there. Unfortunately, the hospital would not have been my first choice, and overall my experience was disappointing. To be fair, I would like to start with the positives. Some of the staff members, including the supervisor, were kind, professional, and clearly doing their best to provide good care under what appeared to be challenging circumstances. However, there were several issues that affected my experience. On one occasion, a staff member was attempting to take a blood sample but struggled to find a vein. After multiple unsuccessful attempts, my hand was left bruised and painful. I reported this to the supervisor at the time. The facilities are also in need of renovation. As a private patient, I expected a higher standard of comfort. There was not even a suitable chair for my husband to sit comfortably beside my bed, and the curtains provided very little privacy. The food was acceptable, but I only discovered on my own that vegetarian meal options were available. No information about dietary choices was provided upon admission. The nurses and support staff, including those responsible for changing bedding and cleaning, were generally polite and courteous. However, the bed itself was very hard and uncomfortable. The bathroom also had maintenance issues and was clogged during my stay. Regarding the midwifery care, my experience was mixed. One of the midwives was knowledgeable and supportive, and I also had my own private midwife. However, when I experienced difficulties with breastfeeding and asked for assistance, I received little guidance and had to wait until the following day to discuss my concerns with my own midwife. Overall, the hospital appeared to be understaffed, including in the baby care unit, which may explain some of the shortcomings I observed. After this experience, I would not choose this maternity hospital again. As a private hospital, I expected a higher level of care, comfort, communication, and support. Unfortunately, my experience did not meet those expectations."
