"Following some months of pain with a herniated disc, the Red Cross Hospital in Hiroo conducted a microdiscectomy surgical procedure. The level of care, skill and understanding was first class, and I can't recommend the hospital highly enough. Thank you to all, particularly Onishi Yuki, an amazing surgeon."

"Seems like a nice hospital, seems also more pricey. If you don’t have a referral letter, you will pay 11,000¥! Other Public hospitals charge 1500¥. On the good side, the Hp is updated and has English speaking doctors, nurses and translators. Free bicycle parking and the bus stops right out front."

"Unfortunately, my experience has not been very positive. Despite having a reservation, I was kept waiting for 1–3 hours beyond the scheduled time on three separate visits. I also noticed that other patients who arrived after me were seen first. If you need prompt medical attention or are feeling seriously unwell, it may be better to visit another hospital where waiting times are more consistent."

"The hospital is huge, and they give me vaccines, so I have navigated the hospital. It seems a bit complicated, but everyone is very nice, and all you need to do is ask. They are always quite friendly and accommodating. One reviewer said they came here for an influenza check-up. Don't come here for something a small clinic can do. In general, large hospitals in Japan are not the same as in other countries. Small clinics serve the purpose of general medicine. Large hospitals are where you go when small clinics don't cut it. There tends to be a longer wait because of the specific nature of everyone's diseases. The grounds are amazing; very healing with huge old trees, all kinds of plants, fruit trees, and even an herb garden. They also have a number of green roofs. Apparently they have a special group of volunteers dedicated to the landscape. There is a Starbucks inside, and small shop. There is also a nursing school and an orphanage on the grounds."

"I would not recommend this hospital for any foreigners, they will rip you off. My son had to stay there for 5 days. Care was good, although we felt they were pushing to keep him as much as possible. Problem was at the exit. The price per night was ~twice the one that was given to us at admission. Last, the process to get a medical certificate for insurance is crazy, they wait for you to pay for care, then they charge you again a lot of money just to do the medical certificate, taking you by surprise. But you are stuck, because you need the document, and they know it. Not in line with what one could expect from à "red cross" establishment."
