"Terrible experience. My daughter fell and hurt herself while we were on a tour. We went to the a clinic in Shinjuku but was turned away (cos we were foreigners), called another clinic and was turned down too. Read reviews that this hospital do test foreigners and hence we found our way there. Went to the emergency side cos after office hours. We were there around 6.40pm. They don't want to accept us, saying doc was busy handling emergency cases. We said we are willing to wait but no, they insisted of turning us away. Happy ow can a hospital only have a doc n standby?"
"5 stars service! We were travelling in Tokyo, our one year old was sick and took her to ER emergency room at night, none of the staff/nurse/doctor speak English but they are very helpful and use a special translator on their tablet to communicate with us. We understand everything clearly, the examination process is very detailed, the Doctor is very friendly and answered all our questions. Thank you so much!"
"Originally, I thought Keio University Hospital was a highly reputable and outstanding institution, with skilled, responsible, and empathetic doctors. However, after six months of treatment, I am extremely disappointed. I feel like a ball being kicked back and forth between departments. At first, I thought I was just unlucky not to encounter a responsible doctor, but now I realize that shirking responsibility and passing the buck is the norm here. I kept holding on to the hope that the next department or the next appointment would finally bring me a responsible doctor, but after six months and visits to multiple departments, my hopes have been shattered over and over again. When a test result comes back normal, not a single doctor suggests further investigation into the cause of my symptoms or offers any advice. All they say is, “I don’t know,” and their attitude seems to be that they just want to end the consultation quickly and hope I never return. No one here takes responsibility for a patient’s life. Due to an infection caused by a surgical procedure, I have been suffering from daily fevers and leg pain for nearly a year, with the pain worsening over time. Yet, the doctors here refuse to provide any meaningful diagnosis or treatment. They simply say, “I don’t know,” and let me continue suffering indefinitely. Since they “don’t know,” they decide there’s nothing to treat, leaving me in this prolonged state of pain, potentially for a lifetime. If you have a condition that is not a common illness, and your symptoms are severe, I strongly urge you not to come here. Every life deserves respect. Value your life—stay away from Keio University Hospital. Keio University Hospital’s behavior is absolutely unacceptable. Obtaining my own medical test results is a basic right, legally protected, and something I can easily do at any other hospital. Yet, they blatantly refuse to provide it, acting as if denying a patient’s personal medical information is completely normal. Even worse, when I said I wanted to file a complaint, the hospital and complaint office immediately coordinated their response. By the time I arrived at the complaint window, they already knew my name before I even spoke. It was obvious they had pre-planned everything to shut down my request. At the complaint window, I stated that I have the right to access my medical test results. But they confidently and repeatedly told me, “No, you don’t have that right.” I told them this is a legal right, and I have the right to know my own test results, but they gave no explanation—just kept insisting, “You don’t have that right.” When I said I would file a complaint with the Ministry of Health (MHLW), their only response was “Please.” For a country that calls itself “developed,” this level of zero oversight in healthcare is beyond shocking. And Keio Hospital is a perfect example of how they exploit this broken system to mistreat patients with no consequences."
"Horrible experience. Came in on a Saturday as a walk in patient with a referral letter. Even after explaining that I am in pain and need to see a doctor I was sent away. Reason, that I need an appointment and emergencies only after 4:30pm! After my questions, how emergencies have a time, she didn’t respond. Wasted 1 1/2 hour for nothing. Highly disappointed, especially as I was told that you always get taken care of in Japan."
"We came to this hospital to remove some stitches during our trip to japan. They took a very good care of us. The staff was super nice and helpful. Yes, the english is not the best but with some help from google translate and good will everything went just fine and although we didn't have an appointment we were out after 1.5 hour"
