"Unfortunately, our experience was not satisfactory. As a parent, I did not feel there was sufficient cooperation or respect for my role as a companion, even though I was authorized by the office to admit patients. There was no bed for me as a companion, no food, and I was treated in a very formal and rude manner by the nurses and the professor overseeing the case. Communication with the medical team was also limited, and we did not receive a clear explanation for some medical decisions, such as the refusal to perform a PET scan. Important appointments, such as a PET CT scan, were canceled, despite the importance of these procedures in accurately assessing the case. My son is a person of determination and deserves special treatment and human and professional communication, which we did not receive during most of the treatment phases, causing us significant psychological stress. I hope the hospital will reconsider its policies regarding dealing with child patients and their parents, especially those with disabilities."

"I had to take some treatment at this Klinikum which involved multiple visits over a year. Every single time all the Nurses and Doctors were extremely nice and friendly. Always answered all my questions very patiently. I felt very well cared for."

"I recently underwent hiatal hernia repair and a revisional Nissen Fundoplication at LMU Klinikum Großhadern in Munich, Germany, under the care of Prof. Dr. Jens Werner and Prof. Dr. Hubertus Stein. I can say without hesitation that LMU Klinikum is one of the best hospitals in Europe for complex hiatal hernia surgeries and fundoplication revisions. Prof. Dr. Werner and Prof. Dr. Stein are among the world’s leading surgeons in this field, and their meticulous attention to detail—both during the preoperative evaluation and throughout the follow-up testing after surgery—was truly exceptional. During my five-day hospital stay, Prof. Dr. Werner and his medical team personally visited me every morning at 8:00 AM to monitor my progress and ensure my recovery was on track. This level of dedication and hands-on care is rare and deeply appreciated. I am especially grateful to Prof. Dr. Werner for arranging a private hospital room, which was exceptionally clean, comfortable, and quiet, making a world of difference to my overall recovery experience. My experience at LMU Klinikum was in stark contrast to the botched hiatal hernia repair and failed Nissen Fundoplication that I previously underwent in December 2023 in Canada. Unfortunately, that procedure was performed by an incompetent surgeon, leaving me with complications that profoundly affected my health and quality of life. Thanks to Prof. Dr. Werner and Prof. Dr. Stein, these issues were fully corrected. Their surgical skill and expertise gave me a much better outcome than I had ever thought possible. It has now been six weeks since my surgery on July 29, 2025, and I feel better than I have in over twenty years. My recovery has been remarkable, and I am incredibly grateful to the entire LMU Klinikum team for restoring my health. I highly and wholeheartedly recommend Prof. Dr. Jens Werner and Prof. Dr. Hubertus Stein to anyone seeking advanced surgical care for hiatal hernia repairs or revisional Nissen Fundoplication. Their professionalism, compassion, and surgical expertise are truly world-class. LMU Klinikum is part of the prestigious Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität (LMU) Munich, and I am deeply thankful for the exceptional care I received there. A update from January 16th, 2026. LMU Klinikum completed the final billing from my surgery in Iune of 2025 and they refunded me more third of what they originally quoted. This hospital is totally honest and more than fair in their billing. I am totally happy with the way I was treated. I highly recommend LMU Klinikum."
