"My experience with Dr. Kawai & his staff was wonderful. Everyone spoke excellent English and were very professional and friendly. I travelled from Shiga prefecture to have my birth control arm implant (nexoplanon) removed. It was the only place in Japan that I could find, where a doctor would actually remove it. It isn’t covered by Japanese medical insurance & since the medication was from overseas, I got turned away over 2 dozen times from places all around Osaka, Kyoto, Shiga & Tokyo. This clinic took good care of me even though this type of procedure isn’t their speciality or anything. I am not sure if they routinely perform this sort of removal or not so please contact them directly. I highly recommend this clinic."

Everyone was so kind and personable, especially the nurse- I felt really comfortable there which helped me to relax during the procedure. The doctor was amazing at his job- I had very minimal bruising and he was so quick to both do the procedure and remove the stitches, I was very impressed. "Excellent excellent clinic, both doctor and staff. Everyone went above and beyond to ensure the comfort and ease of a foreigner trying to navigate the medical system in a new country in the middle of a health emergency. I was treated gently and consistently well despite being a somewhat tricky case, over more than a month and across cities in Japan - the doctor kindly agreed to a phone consultation as well when I was travelling in the middle. All my questions were answered very patiently and my concerns were taken into account. I recommend calling to set up an appointment before showing up - and don't worry, because most times English-speaking staff are available over the phone as well. National health insurance is accepted. Thank you to the doctor and staff for all your help!"
