"Review: Kokilaben Hospital, Andheri West (4 Bungalows) Our experience at this hospital was extremely disappointing and traumatic. The washrooms were dirty and unhygienic—completely unacceptable for a hospital of this reputation. My mother was given multiple injections and strong painkillers that appeared unnecessary and only increased her suffering. We were told she had a very advanced stage of infection, which terrified our entire family, but later this diagnosis felt exaggerated and poorly justified. What disturbed us further was the oncologist recommended by the pulmonary team who immediately pushed for chemotherapy. There was little effort to calmly explain alternatives or justify such an aggressive and expensive treatment. It came across as profit-driven rather than patient-driven. Adding to this, we were told that mutation testing would take 30 days, which felt unreasonably long given how urgently the case was presented to us. During this period, the patient was repeatedly subjected to diagnostic procedures rather than being offered meaningful treatment options for relief. Instead of first focusing on stabilizing her condition or discussing less aggressive approaches, the emphasis again seemed to be on pushing her toward a painful chemotherapy journey. At a time when families need hope, transparency, and humane care, we felt pressured, misled, and emotionally broken. I am sharing this to warn others—ask questions, insist on explanations, and seek second opinions before agreeing to major procedures here. Based on what we experienced, this place felt more like a business operation than a healthcare institution."
"Dear Management, I am writing to formally raise a serious complaint regarding the administrative experience during my wife's, recent hospitalisation and surgery at your hospital. While I acknowledge and appreciate the quality of medical care and treatment provided by the doctors and medical team, the administrative and coordination processes were extremely distressing, disorganised Here’s the experience: Day 1: My wife had to be admitted a day before the surgery. No one provided her with a change of clothes. We had to ask multiple times and received the wrong size three times. Even the fourth time, the pant size was still incorrect, but we eventually gave up. They were also supposed to provide a medical solution to be used while showering. Again, it was not provided, and we had to repeatedly follow up for it. Day 2 (Operation Day): They delayed providing food, which delayed her sleep time — one of the most important factors for recovery post-surgery. Final Day (Discharge Day): This is where everything became extremely frustrating. I was made to run around endlessly for the discharge process. It honestly felt like I was in a municipal hospital. The billing department had not even sent the bill to the insurance company, despite receiving discharge clearance from the medical team. Which later I got to know happened because the TPA department had registered my wife as a cash patient, despite clear written confirmation & communication to the concerned departments. Our insurance company cleared the claim within 45 minutes. However, the entire discharge procedure from Kokilaben Hospital took close to four hours, with most of that time spent running around for clearances just to get the patient discharged. It is 2026, and for a reputed hospital to have such a poorly organised discharge process is inhumane. Inhumane towards relatives who are already under immense stress and are made to run around in circles. More importantly, it is inhumane towards the patient, who is in pain and yet is made to wait endlessly. Please look into this matter with utmost urgency"
"Amazing experience. All smiling faces. I was fortunate to have Dr. Yuvaraja as my surgeon. Right from Dr. Santosh Shetty the entire team is dedicated to fulfill the statement of "Every Life Matters" statement. Truly touched the being human attitude demonstrated by one and all. Thank you team KDAH."
"Admitted senior citizen patient experienced inefficiencies twice. Untrained nurses: hardly any experience, makes, adminsters saline drip and forgets to take out, checks BP without stethoscope, no regular checks on patient. No keeping track of appointments of x-ray, ct scan etc. Measures and notes 90/50 BP for a high BP patient as normal ! Communication issues. Standard answers for any query. Administration: 1. Too much process but too little staff to handle the load. So, even for admission or any procedure related forms, you end up waiting for 1 to 2 hours after taking token. 2. TPA / cashles - At admission policy details are asked but not informed that there those are not being used to initiate mediclaim. So, you may lose one day thinking they might have initiated. Then you come to know about token thing for TPA desk, and heavy form filling, and printouts etc. 3. For every subsequent query or work, you have to wait for endless queues. If aksed for senior persons, reply is negative. No other supervisor/senior only the front desks. 4. Cashless is joke - because you will be asked to deposit almost 80 to 90% upfront before any procedure. Out if this 10% is refunded 2 to 3 months later. Diagnostics: Same endless queues, you get appointment for 12 pm. Patient without any food since morning. Waiting outside the labs, the number comes at 4pm ! Even seen ICU patient waiting for so long - how can one normalize such process ? If you want reports, again you will have to run from pillar to post - not given to patient directly. The doctor you opt for, may give attention for the procedure he is supposed to perform, after that its all lose ends, no cohesive treatment, and no easy access to doctors."
"Excellent Doctors, Heartless Management. While the doctors are great, the hospital is poorly managed. The administrative staff is ruthless and unprofessional. It feels like patients are being exploited and harassed for money at every step. Dealing with their administration is a mental nightmare. Apart from the doctors, everything else is a mess. Expect administrative harassment, financial exploitation, and zero empathy from the staff. Avoid if you want an stress-free recovery. A lot of misinformation and half information is there. So be careful. Not recommended at all otherwise the attendees with patients will become patients by themselves with the pressure they gave you."
