"All over exceptional service and facility. Generally outstanding staff; Dr Rust Theron has literally saved my life a few times in the past; DR Doubell a friendly, but highly knowledgeable Cardiologist using high-tech equipment; Sister Shruthi Birur, an outstanding nurse."

"Horrible doctors there. Dr van Deventer and Dr Boegma have no bedside manner. Dr van Deventer was rude to me when I asked for an update on my partner’s condition in the critical ICU ward in medi clinic Durbanville. Was derogatory towards me as I walked away calling me a drama queen. I would not recommend him working anywhere near people. Horrible man and aggressive. The poor nurses even fear him. He is not there for helping people. He is there for the money to drive a porch. I have logged complaints and hopefully my lawyer will push through with a defamation and homophobic case against Dr van Deventer"

"I’ve been meaning to write this review for a while because the team at Durbanville Mediclinic truly deserves recognition. I was admitted for hip-related issues, and while hospitals are never exactly “fun,” the care I received made an incredibly difficult and painful time so much easier to navigate. The nurses were phenomenal — kind, patient, compassionate, and always willing to help with any issues that came up. Even when circumstances beyond anyone’s control affected my admission timing or comfort, the staff handled everything with such grace and professionalism. The food was honestly delicious, which was such an unexpected comfort while recovering, and the hospital manager was incredibly gracious and caring throughout my stay. What makes a hospital experience memorable isn’t the building itself — it’s the people helping you through vulnerable moments. And the team at Durbanville Mediclinic went above and beyond in every way. Thank you to everyone involved in my care. You made a very difficult experience feel safe, supported, and genuinely cared for. Five stars all the way."

"My experience at Mediclinic Durbanville was unfortunately very disappointing, especially considering this is meant to be a private hospital. While the theatre staff and my doctor were friendly, professional, and caring, the ward experience was completely different and far below the standard I expected. The emergency bell was not placed within my reach after surgery, which left me feeling vulnerable and unable to call for assistance when needed. The night staff, in particular, were unfriendly and lacked compassion, while the day staff were somewhat better. The ward itself was noisy, the walls and floors were visibly dirty, and overall cleanliness did not feel up to private hospital standards. The food was also very disappointing — tasteless, and the pancake I received was rubbery and inedible. What upset me most was seeing another patient lying in her own urine for hours because a bedpan had not been placed correctly, and nobody attended to her for a very long time. It was heartbreaking and deeply concerning to witness. Patients recovering from surgery need assistance, kindness, and dignity. Too often, help was not offered, and patients were not positioned comfortably enough to even assist themselves properly. Sadly, based on my ward experience, I would not recommend this hospital. There needs to be serious improvement in patient care, cleanliness, attentiveness, and staff compassion."

"Friendly and helpful staff from the front desk all the way to the ward and Kitchen staff. The nurses do their best to make you as comfortable as possible and take care of your medical needs. The pediatric staff is also excellent and they definitely deserve a shout-out for all their hard work."
