"This is the worst hospital I've been to in my life. If you can afford to go to a different hospital, do it. This is the third time my mom is battling cancer. In her lifetime, she's also experienced being admitted to St. Luke's QC, Asian Hospital, Lung Center of the Philippines, and San Juan De Dios for different reasons. Out of these hospitals, the nurse here are the worst (or baka sa floor lang namin). When you approach the nurse station to ask a question they act like you're not there like focusing on their computer and waiting for you to speak instead of greeting you or visibly sighing deeply. Their system also seems inefficient. It's like they don't know the doctor's orders sometimes or they can't communicate properly. They say they'll confirm with the doctor but when they come back and you follow up on the concern, they say they'll confirm again. My mom was cleared by her main doctor yesterday for discharge. We have been delayed because there was a recommendation for her to be checked by a gastro, which her main doctor said he already informed the hospital about when she was admitted and he was surprised they didn't refer her until yesterday. We're still here today and since my mom wants to go home already, we followed up with the nurse station. They told us they don't know if the doctor will do her rounds today kasi minsan bigla na lang daw sila dumadating. So ano yun???? One clearance away from discharge and they know we've been wanting to go home already pero wala silang empathy to follow up with the doctor until we ask again? The worst is this one doctor doing rounds at the floor where my mom is at. It's one thing to gently divert the conversation back to the point, but interrupting my mom rudely and telling her: "Puro cancer ka pala? Ang malas mo naman"? Di ba siya naturuan ng bedside manners? I thought healthcare workers are supposed to be compassionate. I would say you get what you pay for here, pero I've spent less on medical expenses at other hospitals but the service is better. To be fair, mabait naman yung ibang nurse and staff, but I will never recommend this hospital to any of my family and friends, even if it's the only option left. Dec. 21 Update: Last night, the gastro didn't visit my mom anymore. She just gave the go signal for discharge to the nurse station past 7pm. If she wasn't going to visit in the first place, the go signal could've been given way earlier, not past the billing cut off which forced us to stay another night. This morning, when I also processed the documents for discharge, the officer told me the PhilHealth form didn't include my mom's procedure which is the reason why we're here. So that's another delay that could've been avoided if the staff here would just do their work properly. I'm just thankful the discharge officer was kind enough to inform me via call that the processing of the final bill might take time because of the missing information in the form."
"This was a deeply disappointing experience that raises serious concerns about patient care, communication, and professionalism. My brother was admitted on January 16, 2025. After his laboratory tests were completed, there were no updates for almost 20 hours. Repeated follow-ups with the nurses’ station yielded only “no instructions yet from the doctor,” with no timeframe or reassurance provided. When we asked if we were simply expected to continue waiting, the response we received was dismissive and lacked empathy. Because of the prolonged delay and poor communication, I contacted Customer Service. The representative I spoke with was professional and helpful, and I specifically requested that the concern not be relayed to my brother to avoid adding stress to his condition. Unfortunately, when the attending doctor arrived around 6pm that day, My brother was approached in a manner that suggested awareness of the complaint and implied that the staff had been “reported.” This interaction felt confrontational and unprofessional, and it disregarded our request to handle the matter discreetly. Hospitals are expected to uphold standards of timely communication, empathy, and respect for patient rights—especially when patients and families are in vulnerable situations. Sadly, this experience fell far short of those expectations. I hope ManilaMed takes this feedback seriously and improves its service, communication protocols, and staff training in patient-centered care."
"I want to take this moment to share my recent journey at ManilaMed. A few weeks ago, I had to undergo a difficult surgery, and it was truly one of the toughest experiences of my life. The pain, the fear, and the uncertainty were overwhelming at times, but the compassion and professionalism of the people around me made all the difference. I am deeply grateful to the entire team at ManilaMed for taking care of me throughout this process — from the nurses, staff, and everyone who assisted me during my stay. Most especially, I want to thank Dr. Yuga, my surgeon, for his expertise, patience, and genuine care. Because of his hands and guidance, I am now on the road to recovery. This experience has taught me to value life and health even more. It reminded me that healing is not just about the body, but also about the support, kindness, and prayers of the people around me. To ManilaMed and to Dr. Yuga — thank you for being instruments of healing. 🙏💙"
"0/5!!! 4 hours wasted because of poor coordination, carelessness, and lack of urgency. This is an ER. not a place for slow service and unprofessional behavior. Patients come here because they need immediate medical attention, not to be ignored and left waiting endlessly. Ang daming time ng mga nurses sa ER Station magchikahan and tawanan instead of accommodating patients and I am standing there like ghost, completely ignored. If you value your time, health, and peace of mind, JUST GO TO ANOTHER HOSPITAL. I will never recommend ManilaMed to anyone!!!"
"No update from nurses or doctors. Stayed in the ER for 10hours now and counting. Ang nararamdaman lang naman eh not feeling well. Countless follow ups they just say yes. They said CBC will take 3hours then urinalysis will take 2hours. 10 hours na wala pading sinasabing result 🙂"
