"Some will have a different experience depending on the doctor and nurses, but I was really impressed with my care. Reception through the emergency entrance were efficient and pleasant. The maternity ward was really lovely, great midwifes and nice food. The facility/rooms also felt comfortable, even if not the most updated, but I sort of liked that. Thank you for my care."

"Extremely disappointing and concerning experience with Mediclinic Cape Town during a medical emergency. I called the hospital to report a patient experiencing shortness of breath (SOB) — a potentially life-threatening symptom — and asked whether it would be safer to call an ambulance or come directly to the ER. The operator’s response was simply: “It’s your choice.” I later learned that operators may not be allowed to give medical advice. However, responding to an emergency call involving difficulty breathing with “it’s your choice” — without any empathy, urgency, escalation, or safety framing — is completely unacceptable. This is not about giving advice; it is about basic emergency call handling. This lack of support added unnecessary stress during a critical situation. As a long-standing supporter of Mediclinic, and someone who gave birth at Mediclinic, this experience was particularly shocking. Due to the poor response, we had no choice but to contact Netcare, and the patient was taken to Christiaan Barnard Memorial Hospital ER instead. When someone calls a hospital during a breathing emergency, they are not looking for indifference — they are looking for reassurance, clarity, and urgency. This interaction fell far below the standard of care and professionalism expected from a leading private healthcare group. I hope Mediclinic takes this seriously and reviews how emergency calls are handled, because in real emergencies, words and tone can make a critical difference."

"I’m very grateful for the care I received at this ER during our visit to Cape Town. I was extremely sick and vomiting, and despite it being New Year’s Day, they took me in immediately. The staff gave me prompt, attentive care, including IV drips and antibiotics that truly helped me recover quickly. I had to visit twice in one day due to the pain, and both times I was treated with kindness and urgency, even while the ER was busy. They made sure I was comfortable, provided food, and took excellent care of me throughout my visit. As visitors from the U.S., we also appreciated that the pricing was fair and transparent, with no attempt to overbill. Professional, compassionate, and trustworthy care. Highly recommended!"

"I had a very bad experience 6yrs ago when I gave birth to my son, having my gynecologist there forced me to go back and it was the toughest decision we had to make. Surprisingly this time around everyone was perfect from reception, theater team, Dr's and most importantly nurses that were looking after me and my baby, if I were to mention names this would be even longer. I appreciate your care and kindness. Thank you all for an exceptional service 🙏"

"I was recently admitted and had an experience that deserves every bit of praise I can give. From start to finish, the care I received was nothing short of exceptional. The Surgical Ward team were incredible — warm, attentive, and genuinely caring. They checked on me often, explained everything clearly, and made me feel safe and supported throughout my stay. The Theatre staff were just as outstanding. Their confidence, professionalism, and calming presence turned what is usually a stressful moment into one where I felt completely reassured. Their teamwork and communication were flawless, and I felt truly looked after every step of the way. Every staff member I encountered — nurses, doctors, admin, support teams, everyone — carried the same spirit of kindness and pride in their work. It’s rare to find a hospital where the culture of care is so strong, but this team delivers it naturally and consistently. I’m genuinely grateful for the excellent treatment and compassion I received. Highly recommended and truly deserving of recognition."
