"Absolutely amazing. The care they give to the patients is so genuine and this is from the ER right up until the ward. My daughter was in the B ward. From the doctors, domestic works, nurses the kitchen staff always kind and caring. Great hospital. You can see when people take pride in their work. 5 stars. Thank you so much to all at constantiaberg hospital."
"I was very impressed with the treatment I received from all the staff members. Everyone, from the person at reception, the day ward and theater staff were extremely helpful and friendly. My only complaint is that my locker was unable to lock and was not fixed before I went into theater despiteI being there about 3 and a half hours before my procedure.I stressed a bit about my valuables. Aside from that, my overall experience was fantastic. I would definitely recommend Constantiaberg hospital."
"Emergency unit; received efficient service at reception and with day duty staff upon arrival around 1pm. At 19h00, staff changeover, new Dr, new nursing staff. Around 8pm I had to ask one of the nurses in passing, who was assigned to my son, as no one has been to see him yet, no dr no nurse, and he was required to to have further blood and radiological investigations done as per the feedback to us from the dayshift RN. The nurse(RN) brought the responsible RN to my son's bed, and he indicated that "bed 4" was his patient, but that we had to wait as there were more urgent cases for CT scans. He had no RN epaulettes, only a name badge, so I wasn't sure of his rank/responsibilities. He did not even introduce himself to the patient or check my son's condition at the time. NOTHING. His response was somewhat snotty and while it is understood that there are priority cases, everyone must be treated with respect and due care. I feel that we did NOT get that at EU after 7pm. No one did any clinical observations on my son during this time, despite me trying to bring attention to his severe pain levels and high blood pressure. He eventually had the CT scan, and after 45 minutes back in EU, a Dr Abrahams came around (did a split second information sharing), informing us that he needs to be admitted for surgery and will be started on IVI antibiotics in EU. They however never started the antibiotics - I went to the desk to ask Dr Abrahams when the antibiotics was to be started (given that it was now almost 2 hrs after she came around to inform my son about the outcome of the scan) she told me that the RN Keith was busy with a red patient and would come when he was done. Also with some irritation in her voice. My son was transfered to Ward D approx 23h00, where the RN was to start with the IVI antibiotics. He was basically lying in EU, with no care provided from around 7pm to 11pm, when he was transfered to the surgical ward. This night shift experience in the EU was just terrible, and one that would make me drive past CMC in future."
"My recent experience at Constantiaberg Medi-Clinic was truly outstanding. I went in for hand surgery and was so impressed by the level of care and professionalism from start to finish. The nursing staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, taking the time to explain every step of the process. Nothing felt like too much trouble; they even offered to collect my prescription from the pharmacy, which was such a thoughtful touch. In the pre-op room, I was made to feel completely comfortable, tucked into a heated blanket while the team worked efficiently and kindly around me. Dr van der Spuy was exceptional; calm, compassionate, and thorough in explaining the procedure, which immediately put me at ease. The surgery itself started exactly on time, which I really appreciated. Afterwards, the care continued at the same high standard. The doctor checked in on me, and the occupational therapist took the time to talk me through my wound care, ensuring I felt confident going home. A seamless, reassuring experience from beginning to end; I’m incredibly grateful for the care I received."
"On Wednesday 25th Feb my daughter was taken to Constantiaberg emergency unit with severe stomach pain, nausea and vomiting. She was weak and had fever. She was ushered into the emergency ward and was immediately put on two drips. She had severe cold shivers and heart palpitations. The sister on duty as well as the Doctors were very helpful and kind. One doctor in particular is Dr Chris Straelull who showed much empathy to my daughter and even held her hand and assuring her that he will do his very best to make her feel better. There was another Doctor, i didnt get his name, who were very helpful as well and presented her with a diagnosis. He did so in a kind and considerate manner and I would like to thank him as well. The receptionist at the front desk was friendly and helpful and directed me to where my daughter was with no hesitation. I would like to commend this hospital for the calibre of staff they employ and for the great service they provided. It was worth ever cent of the R3000 we paid. With heartfelt thanks Veronique Kitching"
