"My dad is in their coroner unit right now and he has been in intensive care and out. Since the moment we’ve entered the hospital, the whole team of caregivers and nurses have been super nurturing, kind, humane and caring. It’s really important when your loved ones are in there, fighting for their lives. 🙏🏻🧿🪬❤️"

"My experience with Medipol was extremely disappointing and far below the standards one would expect from a hospital that promotes itself as an international medical destination. The problems started even before I arrived in Turkey. My surgery was originally scheduled for a specific date, but the hospital later changed it after I had already purchased my flight tickets. Because of this change, I had to modify the flights for both myself and my companion, which cost me €266 in additional airline fees. While the hospital acknowledged the inconvenience and reduced the procedure price by €200, the situation was still caused by their scheduling change. Unfortunately, the payment situation made things even worse. After everything was finished, I ended up paying around 10% more because of the exchange rate applied when paying by card. No one informed me in advance that paying by card would result in such a significant increase or that it would be much better to bring cash and pay in local currency to avoid these extra charges. If I had been properly informed, I would have exchanged euros into Turkish lira in my own country and paid in cash. Because of this lack of transparency, the final cost of my procedure ended up being around €400 higher than the price originally agreed. The organization during my stay was also very poor. Airport transfers were never on time — every transfer from the airport to the hotel was delayed by more than an hour. After a long international trip, patients should not be left waiting like this without proper communication. The same lack of coordination continued at the hospital. I had a scheduled appointment for washing at 13:00, yet after arriving we were left waiting for about 30 minutes before anyone called us. Eventually we were simply told to “go for a walk because it might take time,” which is not how patients with scheduled medical appointments should be treated. Communication throughout the entire process was extremely difficult. Many staff members, including drivers and reception staff, did not speak English. For a hospital that actively attracts international patients, this is very surprising and unprofessional. There was also confusion about the aftercare products that were supposed to be included. According to the offer I received, post-procedure care products were part of the package. However, when it was time for the first wash, no one had provided the shampoo or foam that were required. I had to raise the issue myself before anything was addressed. Overall, the biggest problem was the clear lack of organization and internal communication. Different staff members seemed unaware of schedules, procedures, and what had been promised to the patient. The entire experience felt chaotic and unnecessarily stressful. Traveling to another country for a medical procedure requires trust in the hospital’s professionalism, transparency, and organization. Unfortunately, my experience did not reflect those expectations. I sincerely hope the medical result of the procedure will be successful, because the overall patient experience was frustrating, poorly organized, and far below what a hospital of this size claims to provide."

"My experience in the Cardiology Department at Medipol Mega University Hospital Istanbul was extremely positive and reassuring. From the first consultation to the follow-up care, I felt that I was treated with professionalism, respect, and genuine attention. The cardiology doctors demonstrated excellent medical expertise and communicated clearly throughout the entire process. They explained each investigation and treatment step in a calm and understandable manner, which created confidence and reduced much of the stress associated with cardiac care. The nursing staff was attentive, kind, and consistently supportive. Their professionalism and warm attitude contributed greatly to the overall feeling of safety and comfort during my stay. I was also impressed by the hospital’s organization, cleanliness, hygiene standards, and advanced medical technology. The facilities were modern, comfortable, and very well maintained. Waiting times were reasonable, and the coordination between departments was efficient. As an international patient, I especially appreciated the support provided by the international patient services and interpreters. Communication was smooth, appointments were well coordinated, and administrative procedures were handled efficiently, making the entire experience much easier. What I valued most was the balance between high-level medical care and the human approach of the staff. The entire team showed professionalism, dedication, and respect at every stage of my treatment. Overall, my experience at Medipol Mega University Hospital Istanbul exceeded my expectations. I sincerely appreciate the care I received and would confidently recommend this hospital, especially its Cardiology Department, to patients seeking high-quality medical services in a professional and patient-centered environment."

"Everyone’s experience with healthcare is unique, so I’d like to share an objective account of my time at this hospital. Overall, I found it to be a solid facility with a few areas that could benefit from a more personalized touch. The staff is generally very friendly, with only a few exceptions. I had a similar experience with the doctors; they are undoubtedly amiable and clearly possess a high level of expertise—I truly believe some of the MDs on staff are quite eminent in their fields. However, I feel there is room for improvement regarding attentiveness to patient follow-ups. A patient feels much more cared for when a doctor proactively checks in with follow-up questions or provides a responsive, attentive line of communication when the patient reaches out. On the logistical side, the facility is well-equipped. Having restaurants and cafes, including a Starbucks, right within the hospital complex is very convenient. I also found the administrative side of things to be efficient: scheduling for urgent diagnostics like X-rays, MRIs, and EEGs was not difficult at all. Regarding accessibility and pricing: Location: It is reasonably located, though not directly adjacent to a metro stop. You may need to take a taxi to reach the hospital or to connect to public transit. I personally recommend using the Bagcilar tram; since it is the terminal station, it’s a reliable route that takes you all the way to Kabatas, where you can connect to basically anywhere in Istanbul. Pricing: For those without insurance, the costs are in a normal range—neither exorbitant nor particularly cheap."

"What a waste of time and money. The only good thing this hospital has - a translator service, at least thanks for that. We were referred from a network hospital (Acibadem Medipol) to see a pediatric endocrinologist. We came on time, with all the blood tests we had so far (from Medipol Acibadem and independent laboratory), all tests show similar elevated blood sugar of my baby. BUT the doctor said he didn't trust the results and wanted us to retake blood tests at Mega Medipol. I would understand if he said that about some other sources. But he said he didn't trust the results from a hospital in the SAME network (MEDIPOL). and these blood tests are not smth complicated, (simple glucose, insuline, C-peptide, etc) How can these be so different? Why should I spend extra $200 for the same tests? Does this doctor think that being a foreigner means having more money? NO!!! we don't have more money! But we have critical thinking and we can see that his doctor wasn't caring about a child. I don't recommend this hospital with such unprofessional doctors!"

"It took me quite a long time to come and write a review. We came to this hospital for my father to have a brain tumour surgery. We were told the tumour was not cancerous and surgery will be simple. They told us the treatment including the surgery will take up to twenty days. When you enter the hospital it looks very clean and the people who work there look professional who would care about their patients. My father did his surgery but it did not went well as they said it would. My father never gained consciousness after the surgery ended up staying in ICU for five months. Our funds were dwindling so is the patient care. We were only allowed to see him 30 minutes a day. He ended up having a bed sore that needed a plastic surgery when there’s supposed to be a one to one care. They were not communicating it with us as to when his situation will change. It was getting really hard emotionally, financially to stay in Turkey. On top everything we were dealing with immigration forces us to leave the country. We asked the hospital to help us to transfer our father back home and we were told to figure it out ourselves. We ended up arranging the transfer. On the day we transfer our father the hospital made sign a paper that states that if the transportation method fail in any way they will not take him back. We ended up taking him back home. He suffered for more than a year and lost his battle two months ago. The hospital looks very clean. The people that work there only act as a professional till you run out funds. Patient care will go down as your funds go down. And the people who are there to translate are very inadequate. So I will never recommend a person to go to this hospital or Turkey to get medical treatment."
