"This is a pretty good hospital experience given being in hospital is prob never a great thing! I was here for a womens health surgery and spent one night. Admission was smooth and quick, surgery ran on time, I was lucky enough to have a private room (but even shared rooms were 2 women max) and food was decent. Nurses were all efficient/nice, meds and obs done regularly, help offered when needed. A few times I had to buzz when machines were beeping and only once it took about 15min otherwise generally help came pretty quickly. Facilities seem clean. Visiting hours vary, mostly afternoons. Parking is available onsite, max $35/day and some timed street parking around."
"I recently underwent surgery at POWPH and spent two nights in the facility. I am sincerely appreciative of the exceptional care and support I received throughout my stay. From the moment I was admitted until my discharge, the staff were incredibly kind and consistently offered their assistance. I would particularly like to express my gratitude to Nurse Amy and Rachel for their attentive care on my first day post-operation. That day was particularly challenging for me, but your support significantly improved my experience. Thank you both for your dedication."
"I had surgery this past Saturday at Prince of Wales Private. I had read the reviews prior and they made me apprehensive. I have to say I cannot fault the care that I received pre and post op. The nurses who looked after me were absolutely fantastic. Every single person that I interacted with was overly kind and compassionate. I travelled from 1.5hrs away and this was by far the best hospital care that I have received. (This was my 4th surgery in 2 years the previous were done elsewhere). Could not be more grateful for the treatment I received."
"I would like to take this opportunity to thank a whole group of people at Prince of Wales Private Hospital for their superb, professional care and attention shown towards me during my week long stay. To my treating Specialist, Dr James Yu and his team of professionals, year in and year out you continue to be there to assist me and provide me with the specialist pain management care which I require, thank you very much. To the Nursing Unit Manager, Jeremy and his team of professional and qualified Nurses who I have come across during my week, morning, noon and midnight, the long hours which you all put in, always with a smile on your face, making each patient feel like they are the only person on the ward, I am not quite sure how you do it. A massive thank you for everything which you have done for me, whether you were looking after me during your shift or whether it’s a polite nod and smile as I try and keep my steps up around the ward filling up my water bottle along the way at the various filtered water/ice machines. None of this happens without all the Administration, Housekeeping and Food Service Team members who ensure everything happens as planned, from our rooms being kept hygienically and spotlessly clean, to the ongoing supply of “food, glorious food”, all delivered fresh and hot to your door with that Colgate sparkling smile ensuring we are well nourished with 5 star food, I’m afraid to get on the scales at home. To the Chefs and their teams a belly full of thank yous! Prince of Wales Private by Healthscope is a clear indication of why Australia can be seen as a melting pot of nations where cultural diversity and gender equality are essential in creating a fair and inclusive environment for everyone, where we all feel safe. Merry Christmas to you and your families and a Happy New Year for 2026!"
"Following surgery on the 25th, I was at POW W6S, for two nights. Before arriving I was reading some of the reviews, and I was a little nervous! While I can understand frustrations, it really comes down to which nurses you get, and if you get your own private room. I was lucky, I had my own room (photo of view attached), and most importantly my care team were excellent. I have a few people I need to thank. Unfortunately I can not remember the name of my nurse in recovery who helped me directly after surgery. I was in pain, and it was a blur, she was great. In the ward, Viv and Angela were a God send. Special shout out to Angela who got me through a tough first night. I felt bad for pressing the nurse button on the bed remote so much, thanks for being so accommodating. Everyone I meet from the hospital treated me with the upmost care. Thanks again for looking after me while I was unwell, in pain and feeling vulnerable."
