"Today I was assisted by an angel God sent on my way. Veronica Lopez from the international department was absolutely helpful. I was hopeless that I couldn't take my chemo medication; however, she and the entire hospital team were so helpful to the point I managed to get all my medication. Thanks to all, and special thanks to Veronica Lopez."
"I can’t thank the team who cared for me during my hospital stay enough. They didn’t just do their jobs — they cared, deeply. Everyone took time to sit with me and explain what was happening, what procedures I needed, and why I was getting each medication. And they did it with so much patience. I don’t speak Spanish, and they went out of their way to speak to me in English. I’ll always remember the nurses who pulled out their phones so I could read translations and feel less lost. Being alone in the hospital is hard. But every time I pressed the call button, someone came quickly, with a smile, ready to help. I especially want to thank Nurse Nelly. She opened the windows to let fresh air into my room. I never asked — she just knew I needed it. That moment was so beautiful. It wasn’t just breathing air. It felt like breathing in life. It was as if a heavy weight had been lifted. Seeing Dr. Recardo Sainz de la Cuesta Abbad first thing in the morning was so reassuring. I could tell he truly cared about my health and recovery. He didn’t just come in to tell me what happened during surgery and what the plan was. He stayed and explained why he wanted each step to happen. He personally checked every IV hanging on the rack, my catheter drain, the Jackson drain, and my incisions. And he never left without kind, encouraging words. Because of him, I knew every day that I was going to be all right. From the bottom of my heart — thank you for your kindness. You made a scary time feel safe, and human. I won’t forget it."
"The international service is good; the hospital isn’t—not very professional for the price."
"My husband underwent surgery at this hospital. Superb vascular surgeon of world renown, hence going to Spain. Excellent surgery/surgical results and immediate post op care (first few hours) but thereafter care was appalling, too few nurses, alarm calls very slow to answer, food absolutely disgusting (almost inedible), private room not cleaned daily, towels/sheets not changed. Had to beg for sheets to be changed due to blood leakage from a drain and then had to wait and wait. Wanted more soap for the bathroom and was told the hospital had no soap! Administration is very sloppy and disorganised and manager ineffective despite complaining about the poor service. Only interested in taking the money asap. For self funding private patients I would never recommend this hospital (not even worthy of the one star I had to give). Bar the successful surgery and a very fine surgeon, it was dreadful and I would not want any patient to be treated as my husband (who is a retired UK consultant surgeon) was; it was a disgrace and way below the standard of UK private hospitals."
"We had a very disappointing experience with a pediatrician at this hospital. It was meant to be a routine check-up for our 9-month-old baby, who is usually cheerful, sociable, and very open to people. Unfortunately, the doctor was extremely cold and distant from the start, showing no effort to engage with the baby. During the examination, she acted abruptly, put on a mask suddenly, which scared our son, and continued the procedures without any empathy, even when he started crying uncontrollably and visibly panicked. She didn’t try to calm him, didn’t connect in any way, and even laughed at times, which made the situation even more distressing. It was an extremely stressful experience for our child and for us as parents. We will not return, and we hope this feedback helps other families and encourages the clinic to assess how suitable their pediatric staff are for working with babies."
"Talking about QUIRON SALUD MADRID ( in Pozuelo). The Administration is super BAD and super CARELESS! We are using this hospital since 2018 and up to 2020 ( before COVID) everything was perfect. But after that, it looks they changed the administration. - Most of profesional doctors left the hospital, - the administration became very annoying, careless and aggressive. - Even the application and appointment system. This is almost impossible you can take an appointment sooner than 3-4 months and depend on your insurance company, many doctors don’t accept the insurance company. You can’t take appointment with one doctor sooner than 4 months and if you pay without insurance, you have appointment in 24h! My wife is 7 months pregnant with high risk Rheumatology disease , and looks some young new intern students mixed the blood tests with wrong numbers. Finally she had to repeat the tests while for her pregnancy was out of the standard period . He rheumatologist insists for revision appointment after one month and they didn’t called for 1.5 months and then we had to go be person and they gave us appointment for next 2 months, and after few days they automatically canceled the appointment in the APP!!!! And now a days, it became a place for Medical Turism !!! You see people come by bus with tour leaders and now can imagine why it’s not possible to take appointment for months! The urgency as always is a disaster!!! It’s a shame, because it is very modern and well equipped hospital with such bad management!"
