"Most walk-in clinic experiences are the same (short appointment, long wait-times, unkind staff) but I had a lovely experience with the doctor (Dr. Layla), pharmacist (Richard), and front desk team. Makes a world of difference to have a care team who pay attention to detail while being kind enough to explain things & see you as a person!"

"Sanomed on Bay street is our first to go always. Both my family and my parents love this place for their professionalism, helpfulness, quick turn around and support. We also love the walk in there. Dr. Vajar and Dr. Mark are the best GPs I've ever dealt with. The whole place is run really well and I can't recommend them more. Even if I move out of the neighborhood, this will always my pharmacy and clinic of choice and am happy to drive for the amazing service and care."

"Front desk lady was super helpful. Doctor was confused? They told us the wrong room so she didn’t know what we were actually there for. Told her and she left and came back like 5 minutes later. Girlfriend was in day 2 of asthma attack and doc was not super receptive to my girlfriends concerns about the potential mood side effects of the med she was prescribing her. Gf has multiple mood disorders so it was a serious concern for her wellbeing. Would go back in a pinch, but it didn’t feel like very cohesive care. On the other end, the pharmacy was wonderful. Thanks Richard!"

"Not sure why or if they replaced the old pharmacist but the experience I had with this one for the first time was beyond rude. I asked for my prescription and after I asked how much it would cost, another male employee I wasnt talking to yells it should be less than $20 and then laughed as I walking away and I also said okay thank you. I did not hold that against them and waited for my prescription. I waited about 20 mins and heard nothing so I got up and they said they already called me. I was sitting at the very front of the pharmacy, I think would've heard so they must've called a different name as my name is not an English name. I was sitting directly infront of the pharmacy so I wouldve seen them walk out and none did and they could have also physically gestured to me and because I was sitting right in front and none did. They then called the pharmacist and the medicine ended up being $3 so that $20 comment doesnt make sense and seemed unnecessary. It was very condescending. I watched this pharmacist purposefully ignore serving me because I watched him get called TWICE by his colleagues while he just stood doing nothing staring at a screen for 10 mins straight. I gave it grace because I assumed they were busy but there was no one else there and after I called the other colleague to finally fetch the pharmacist again. He finally came over and the first thing he says is "we called you 3 times" okay? So somehow because you supposedly called me 3 times (which could be false, you could've been calling a completely diff name) is that somehow a justification for purposefully delaying giving me my prescription. It was beyond disrespectful. Trying to punish a patient because you felt the calls weren't answered is malicious and PETTY. He then asked me if I understood everything? Why would I not? We're both speaking English. I advise people be cautious about hiring non-prejudice employees. After, I told him thank you and then he asked me if I had any questions and that shouldve been the first question. It's interactions like these that discourage poc from getting treatment due to unnecessary comments even if the pharmacist is a poc himself."

"My daughter visited this clinic while in significant pain. Her health coverage had expired, and we were fully prepared to pay out of pocket so she could receive care. Instead of focusing on treatment, the two staff members at the front desk openly discussed their uncertainty about how to process an uninsured patient and instructed my daughter, who was already in tears, to go obtain proof of citizenship from a nearby office so she could apply for coverage. I understand they may have been trying to help us avoid paying out-of-pocket costs, but as a healthcare worker myself, I believe those financial decisions should be left to the patient. The clinic's role is to explain the available options and provide care. What was most concerning was that the conversation made it seem as though accommodating an uninsured patient was an inconvenience. When someone is in pain and seeking urgent medical attention, that is not the experience they should have. After being turned away from this clinic, my daughter went to Lockwood Clinic down the street. They not only provided prompt and compassionate care, but after treating her, they also explained that she could obtain the necessary citizenship documentation from the same office and, if completed within the appropriate timeframe, still be reimbursed for the visit. That information was extremely helpful and appreciated. The difference was that Lockwood Clinic prioritized providing care first and addressing the paperwork afterward. Based on this experience, I would not recommend this clinic for urgent concerns. I would instead recommend Lockwood Clinic, where we found the staff to be kind, professional, and understanding during a very stressful situation."
