"I booked an appointment and visited due to severe tooth pain (strong spontaneous pain and night pain). At reception I was immediately told that if a patient cannot speak Japanese, there is a flat starting fee of ¥33,000, regardless of treatment. After explaining my symptoms and asking whether emergency treatment was possible (e.g., X-ray assessment and urgent care such as pressure relief / starting initial root canal treatment), the only option presented was medication. Given the severity of my condition, I decided not to proceed and asked to leave. I was then told that they had already “diagnosed” me and that I still needed to pay ¥33,000 even if I received no treatment. When I requested an itemized breakdown and clarification about insurance eligibility, I did not receive a satisfactory explanation. The dentist did not explain directly; communication was handled by an assistant. Overall, I found the pricing policy and communication unclear and felt pressured to pay without receiving meaningful care. I recommend confirming fees and insurance coverage in writing (with an itemized estimate) before agreeing to anything."

"Booked a very last minute appointment for 11pm the same day and had an amazing experience at Sakura Platinum Dental Clinic. They are perfectly located next to Shibuya Station and very easy to find. The English website is simple to use and ideal for travelers, and they communicate via WhatsApp with very clear instructions and directions. Dr. Tajima was incredibly experienced, kind, and reassuring, and the nurse Aso was amazingly sweet and caring. I felt completely safe and comfortable despite being a tourist with a tooth issue in another country. They also provide a medical certificate for insurance through email, which is a huge help! Honestly the best dentist experience I’ve ever had, couldn’t recommend them enough!!"

"Had a dental drama on the road and needed emergency treatment (part of crown cracked off 😬). Managed to book in for a following day appointment (I literally flew in from Beijing) which was great. Very conveniently located by Shibuya station. The team was fab. Really welcoming and we managed to converse through mixture of English, Google Translate and my son who can speak some Japanese! Thankfully I still had the part of the crown that fell off (and tooth has root canal previously, so no pain). In the end, dentist cemented it back in with a bit of extra fill and it was good to go. Went and had a lovely tonkatsu dinner! Great service and highly recommended. Dōmo arigatō."

"Wiles i was traveling in Japan Tokyo , I had an emergency Dental Treatment at Sakura Platinum Dental Clinic in Tokyo. I was so happy to have found this clinic with late night opening hours. The response was very quick and accommodating to my needs , to get to the location. From the time i arrived until i left i was very well taken care of by the Dental nurse so kind & understanding. There was no issue with communication and to make sure for my understanding simultaneously a translator was used. There was no misunderstanding, everything was well explained and the Question answered clearly. The Treatment it self with Dentist Yoshihisa Tajima was very good he was gentle and made sure i am not in to much pain , he told me exactly what he will do and assured me thats i don’t need to worry. I felt well taken care of and would 100% recommend this clinic if you are visiting from abroad. Thank you again 🙏"

"Sakura Platinum Dental Clinic was an absolute joy. I know that’s not usually a term you associate with the dentist, but in this case, it’s well deserved. The staff were so welcoming, pleasant, and affable that even a routine or mundane service felt exceptional. The hygienist I saw was so genital, caring and diligent, I hardly knew I was having anything done. And the results, well, they speak for themselves: my teeth look whiter, brighter and cleaner than ever before. My overall experience at Sakura Platinum Dental Clinic was 10/10. I’d highly recommend visiting this clinic, and I hope to go back for a touch-up before leaving Japan."
