"Due to a complication with my collarbone, I was under treatment for an extended period, which allowed me to gain a very good understanding of the situation over several months. Throughout this time, I felt exceptionally well cared for. I particularly appreciated how much time the professor took to calmly and clearly discuss the next steps with me. All possible options were evaluated, and I always felt actively involved and treated as an equal. Even immediately after the surgery, time was taken to assess the situation and discuss the further course of treatment. No question was ever too much trouble, and my perspective was always taken seriously. A big thank you also goes to the nursing team on the ward: despite the stress, they were incredibly friendly, dedicated, and full of energy. I am very grateful for the medical and personal care I received."
"After an almost two-year ordeal of pain and visits to numerous orthopedic surgeons, I was referred to the shoulder clinic at the Department of Trauma Surgery at the Rechts der Isar Hospital. Dr. Markus Schwarz, the physician who examined me there, quickly diagnosed instability of my left clavicle, likely a lingering injury from a serious bicycle accident in 2020. The pain at night and the limited mobility had become severe and significantly impacted my daily life. Since this injury is not very common and the success rate of surgery is not particularly high, he recommended that I seek a second opinion from a colleague in the sports orthopedics department at Rechts der Isar. By then, all the necessary imaging studies had already been performed at this clinic. From the outset, I was impressed by the clinic's excellent organization, which made it easy to find all the departments and ensured that the necessary examinations were carried out promptly. I was able to secure an appointment with Prof. Dr. S. Siebenlist quite quickly. Thanks to the existing and current imaging, the best possible course of action could be discussed immediately. At my previous appointments, I was usually advised to take painkillers and immobilize my shoulder, received injections, and was always told it was due to age-related wear and tear. I was never seen as a whole person/patient with an individual health condition and my own movement needs. Dr. Siebenlist got a comprehensive impression of my physical condition and suggested surgery, which would include stabilizing my collarbone with a donor tendon (I'm sure my explanation is very layman's and simplistic). It was immediately clear that his goal was to improve functionality and quality of life and achieve freedom from pain. I finally received treatment according to my needs, and this was even without private insurance (which unfortunately needs to be mentioned these days). The surgery took place on January 7, 2026. It went very well, and the aftercare was also individually tailored to me. Today, I am almost pain-free and mobile again. A heartfelt thank you to Prof. Dr. Siebenlist and his wonderful team. Furthermore, I would like to thank the friendly and helpful nursing staff during my stay on the ward. I am very grateful and can wholeheartedly recommend the Sports Orthopedics Department of the Rechts der Isar Hospital, as well as the entire organizational structure of the Rechts der Isar Hospital – THANK YOU!!! 😉"
"My complete biceps rupture was treated excellently in the Sports Orthopedics Department by Prof. Siebenlist. I felt I received very good medical care from Prof. Siebenlist and the other doctors. The surgery was quick and straightforward. The entire team on the ward was very friendly and attentive. I also booked some of my post-operative physiotherapy directly at the Klinikum rechts der Isar (University Hospital of Munich) and received excellent care there as well. My arm will soon be fully functional again, and I am very grateful for the excellent surgical treatment and care!"
"I booked an appointment through Doctolib for an initial consultation, and nowhere on Doctolib was it clearly stated that patients are accepted without a prior ultrasound or MRI. On the platform, it is possible to select and book what appears to be a first visit without any issue, so naturally I expected to be seen for an initial assessment. However, when I arrived, I was refused at reception because I did not already have an ultrasound or MRI. It would be very helpful if you updated this information and made it explicit before booking. Otherwise, this creates confusion and leads to a complete waste of time for patients"
"Nice doctors, but my oh my, the rudeness of the receptionists 😂 also waiting times are intense"
