"I went to the ER at St. Luke’s Medical Center with severe abdominal pain, nausea, and vomiting. The ER was overcrowded but I was evaluated reasonably quickly. Imaging confirmed acute gallbladder inflammation, and I was admitted for IV antibiotics prior to surgery. Due to lack of beds, I spent over 24 hours on a stretcher in the ER holding area under bright lights with little privacy. The nurses were clearly overworked and Basic requests like for a glass of water took over an hour. After transfer to the floor, conditions were quieter but service did not improve. Despite being cleared to eat, my meal was delayed for hours, and although I repeatedly informed staff that I am vegan, I was still served food containing beef broth. I also experienced long delays and lack of follow-through regarding my surgery schedule time, leaving me unsure whether to remain NPO. On the morning of my surgery day I was given breakfast which I did not eat since I knew I needed to be NPO for surgery. As a physician myself, I found the lack of communication and continuity of care concerning. On the Bright side , The surgical, OR, and recovery teams were exceptionally professional and competent. My surgery went well, and I was discharged the following day. Overall: great surgical care, but disappointing inpatient experience due to poor communication and nursing support. Overcrowded ER with insufficient staff."
"We are very grateful to St. Luke’s for the medical care my sister has been receiving. Her doctors and medical team have been supportive and we truly appreciate their expertise and dedication. However, we would like to share a concern regarding the admission process. Our doctor informed us that my sister was scheduled for admission on Monday for her planned treatment, so we called ahead to confirm room availability before traveling from the province. We were told that no room was available and that the admission would be moved to the next day. When the next day came, we continued to follow up, but we were still advised to wait for a call and were not given any assurance whether a room would be available or what time we could be accommodated. Given the urgency of her treatment and the fact that we are coming from far away, the uncertainty was very stressful for our family. In the end, we decided to take the risk and travel to the hospital even without confirmation, hoping she would be accommodated and thankfully, she was. While we are thankful that everything worked out, we hope the hospital can improve coordination and communication regarding admissions, especially for patients with planned and urgent treatments. Clearer updates and more definite information would greatly help reduce stress for patients and their families. We remain grateful for the care provided and hope this feedback helps improve the experience for others in the future."
"My stay at St. Luke’s Medical Center has been nothing short of excellent. From the moment I was admitted, the doctors, nurses, and staff showed genuine compassion, professionalism, and attention to detail. Every concern was addressed promptly, and I always felt safe and well cared for. The facilities are clean, organized, and comfortable, which made a challenging time much more bearable. What stood out the most was the kindness of the healthcare team — they not only treated my condition but also cared for me as a person. Truly grateful for the dedication and competence of everyone involved in my care. Highly recommended for anyone seeking quality medical treatment with a human touch."
"The Doctor’s , nurse’s and all the staff are so professional. The management doing a great job. The food is so delicious. The hospital is like a hotel on the surface, but beneath it lies fear, hope, and healing."
"Executive Check-Up Experience at St. Luke’s BGC I scheduled my executive check-up (ECU) at St. Luke’s BGC through my company, and within 24 hours, they had already responded and confirmed my preferred date. Even before the appointment, I received clear email instructions and text message reminders on what to do and what to expect—very reassuring and well-organized. On the day of my ECU, everything ran smoothly from the moment I arrived. I was given clear directions, attended to immediately, and ushered into an office to complete paperwork. Once done, I was brought to what I can only describe as a buffet area (definitely not your typical hospital cafeteria). They served breakfast, lunch, and dinner with a wide variety of dishes, fruits, drinks, and desserts. The food was tasty and far from standard hospital fare—great, though admittedly not diet-friendly. What truly stood out was the room. It felt more like a hotel than a hospital—spacious, pristine, and very comfortable. The bathroom was exceptionally clean, and amenities included a Nespresso machine, a fridge, and even a safe for valuables. Upon check-in, I was also given a detailed schedule of all my tests—and impressively, they actually stuck to it. Wait times were minimal, and everything happened as scheduled. After completing all the tests, I received my results promptly along with clear checkout instructions. As a nice bonus, they allowed me to take home the pillows I used (since they would be discarded anyway) and even gave me a fruit basket as a thank-you for signing up for the ECU. The only downside was parking. It took several rounds of going up and down the parking floors to find a spot, and I had to move my car midday to secure a safer space. That said, this was a minor inconvenience compared to the overall experience. Overall, this was an excellent experience. I have no real complaints and am very happy I chose St. Luke’s BGC for my executive check-up. I will definitely be coming back next year."
