"I was honestly concerned before going to this hospital because of some of the low-star reviews, but my experience was completely different. The staff were incredibly kind and professional from start to finish. Dr. Starr, Dr. Tu, and the entire medical team were amazing. They checked on me regularly, prepared me for surgery, and took excellent care of me throughout the entire process. The nurses after surgery were also outstanding—attentive, compassionate, and supportive. I truly have nothing but positive things to say. Thank you to everyone who took care of me—you made a stressful experience so much easier."

"My husband broke his ankle back in November and was taken to Humber River Emergency Room. From that first night, our experience has been overwhelmingly positive. Emergency wait times weren’t too long. He arrived around 9:30 and even with x-rays, and setting the bone, we were back home around 1:30AM. We returned for our appointment at the fracture clinic the next day, with Dr. Jones. It was easy to get there with the directions we had, and staff were friendly and accommodating (they gave my husband a nearer window to check in, because he was on crutches). We arrived a bit early, and everything was so efficient that we were out again before our scheduled appointment time. Everyone we interacted with was so kind and conversational. We returned for surgery the next week, with Dr. Desai. Our surgery was delayed due to an incoming emergency (which is understandable. It was worth the wait to have the specialist surgeon even if we were sleepy) but staff communicated with us and told us why. The surgery itself was quick. I loved the text communication system that kept me informed while I waited. The nurse in the recovery room was pleasant and helpful. And all of our follow up appointments have been quick and friendly. Obviously you can’t always choose which hospital you end up at when an emergency happens, but I’d happily return to Humber River. During a very stressful time, I’m glad that I didn’t have any additional stress from the hospital itself."

"First, I want to recognize the triage staff and the nurse who attended me. They were very kind, attentive, and professional. They acknowledged my condition and explained everything clearly, which helped me feel supported at the beginning of my visit. However, my experience with Dr Ayow was difficult. He did not greet me when he entered the room and immediately asked what brought me in. When I tried to explain my symptoms, he told me to answer only what he asked. His tone felt rude and dismissive. During the examination I was nervous, but he did not show empathy or try to help me feel more relaxed. Instead, he made frustrated sounds and facial expressions that made me feel uncomfortable and judged. I am an immigrant and sometimes I need a little extra time to understand and answer in English. I had to ask my husband to help translate, but the doctor kept repeating himself in the same way rather than trying to communicate more clearly. I believe doctors should show empathy and help patients feel calmer, especially when they are scared or in pain. A more respectful and patient-centered approach would make a big difference."

"The experience with my boy at the children’s inpatient unit was great! The paediatricians and nurses were super helpful and nice, they made our experience less stress despite with everything else we were going through. Everything is super new and they even have a movable tv for your little ones, a true life saver for me. A big thank you from my family!"

"My experience at Humber River Health has been great and quite impressive so far from the begining when I came to ER, admitted to the hospital for 5 days during Xmas because I had severe appendicitis, I was very well taken care off and treated properly. I am now under followup by Dr Sohi - he is very friendly and explains clearly all my questions. I am very grateful for everyone - Doctors and The nursing staffs, Food service, cleaners as they were extremely responsible, supportive. The hospital is clean, modern. I found out that this is the first fully digital hospital in North America. Impatient room is very nice and well equiped. There are everything you need like Starbucks, Tim Hortons, RBC, The food court is huge. Overall Humber River Health deserves 5*"
