"I cannot fault the service & care provided by both nurses & doctors during my three attended in 2025-26 so far. Staff also work in the attached Gadigal Clinic & their combined performances make for an excellent team. Sure, waiting times seem long but fair warning is given when seeking admittance to this fantastic, Medicare funded facility that treats many Australians in need of their care. Most visits require a patient to see multiple administrative & diagnostic staff."

"Best Eye Hospital experience. Presented with a foreign object in my eye, in extreme pain, I was registered in in less than 20 min and Rachel the nurse meticulously opened my eyelid and twisted the superior one outwards and got the object, clearing with little saline solution. Opto exam followed. The ophthalmology resident also assessed the condition of my eye with proper care and appropriate equipment. I am currently a tourist here and it all only cost 350$A. In the US or even my home country the consult alone would have been more. All paperwork was provided post intervention. Couldn’t be more happy."

"Very disappointing experience. We waited for over four hours and still were not seen. Around the third hour, my mother briefly went to the restroom. During that time, the doctor called her name. I immediately explained that she was in the bathroom, and he said he would call her again when she returned. However, we ended up waiting another full hour. When the doctor came out again, he called the next patient instead. I reminded him that he had already called us earlier, but he said he knew and that since we “missed it,” he needed to see the next patient. Is it really reasonable that stepping away briefly to use the restroom means you lose your place entirely? My parents are both nearly 70 years old. They had not eaten dinner and were left sitting and waiting for over four hours without being seen. This level of organization and consideration for elderly patients is unacceptable. Very frustrating and exhausting experience."

"It's historically called Rum Hospital and is a major hospital in Sydney and oldest in Australia, built in 1811. At present it has about 100 beds and about 400 staff. Specialises in eye and hand surgery. It's a teaching hospital of the University of Sydney. The buildings are of old colonial Georgian design. It features several arched openings and a lovely large fountain in the courtyard. Toilets are available and cafes about. Parking is difficult, hence public transport is advisable."

"I arrived in the eye emergency dept around 0715. I was triaged by 0745. I was seen by a nurse twice by 0845. I am very happy with the responses so far."
