"I recently had bilateral quadriceps tendon repair surgery and was at The Sydney Private Hospital for rehab, and I can’t thank the team enough for their incredible care and support throughout my recovery. A special mention to Caitlin, my physiotherapist, whose patience, encouragement, and expertise made a huge difference in getting my confidence and mobility back. Also to Niamh and Gemma from occupational therapy — thank you for your care, guidance, and for helping me adjust after surgery with ease. The nursing team, both day and night, were simply outstanding — always attentive, kind, and genuinely caring. Every single nurse I met went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable and supported. I’m truly grateful to have been looked after by such a compassionate and professional group of people. Highly recommend The Sydney Private Hospital to anyone needing rehabilitation or post-surgery care — they really make you feel looked after every step of the way."

"I had my right hip replaced in June this year. My operation was performed at St Vincent’s Private Hospital. My rehabilitation has been at Sydney Private Hospital Ashfield. My rehabilitation experience has been outstanding. From my first contact with the reception staff to the rehabilitation staff, everyone has been friendly, helpful, supportive and knowledgeable. The Physiotherapist team have been amazing. My treatment plan has been perfect for my recovery and at every step I have felt supported and cared for. The gym is well appointed and the pool is wonderful. I have worked with a special team of excellent professionals. Thank you to Danielle, Poppy, Laura, Caitlin, Hannah and Pranay in particular as well as Dr Zhang and all of the other staff at the Rehab facility. I have thoroughly appreciated the care, chats, laughter and hard work. I am walking away, confidently and pain free!! Thank you, I will miss spending time with you all. Kelly-Anne 🌻"

"My mother was admitted to this rehabilitation hospital following surgery, and we were hoping for proper support and guidance to ensure a safe discharge home. Unfortunately, our experience was extremely disappointing. Staff lacked compassion and were dismissive when we requested assistance and clarification around post discharge care. Communication was poor, and there was very little proactive support provided to help us prepare for her return home. I have lodged a formal complaint directly with the hospital and have not received any response, which has only added to the frustration. Will now be escalating to the Health Care Complaints Commission. Families place trust in rehabilitation facilities during very vulnerable times. Sadly, this experience did not reflect the level of care and professionalism we expected."

"Our family’s experience at Sydney Private Hospital Rehabilitation Ashfield has been deeply distressing and far below what you would expect from a private rehabilitation facility. My mother is a paying patient recovering and trying her best to regain mobility, yet her care has been marked by repeated failures and a lack of compassion. Medication mismanagement has been a major issue. Her doctor directed that pain relief must be given 30 minutes before therapy sessions. This has frequently been forgotten unless a family member chases staff. When medication is late or missed, my mother is left in extreme pain during therapy — which is both cruel and completely counterproductive to rehabilitation. We have also witnessed poor staff attitudes and rough handling. On several occasions, my mother’s calls for assistance have been ignored, leaving us to go to reception for help, only to be told to “ring the buzzer” and wait — sometimes 10 minutes or more while she is in discomfort. One nurse responded to my mother asking for gentler care by saying, “Don’t tell me I’m being rough, I’m trying to do my job. I have a sore back.” That kind of response to a vulnerable patient is unacceptable. Basic care has also been missed. Meals have been forgotten, with staff incorrectly claiming forms weren’t completed — despite our family filling them out. Most concerning is the lack of patient-centred communication. My mother was told she “can’t leave until she walks properly,” with no clear explanation of goals, timelines, or collaborative planning. Rehabilitation should be supportive and respectful, not dismissive and vague. This has been an incredibly upsetting experience for our family. We expected professional, compassionate care — especially in a private facility — and instead we have had to advocate constantly just for basic standards to be met. I sincerely hope management takes these concerns seriously and makes urgent improvements, because no patient or family should have to go through this."

"I would like to express my sincere gratitude and appreciation for the outstanding nursing care I received at Sydney Private Hospital Ashfield. The nursing staff—Chris, Anthony, and Brenden—were truly exceptional. They were professional, compassionate, attentive, and always willing to go the extra mile to ensure my comfort and wellbeing. Their calm reassurance, clear communication, and genuine kindness made a significant difference to my hospital experience. They treated me with dignity and respect at all times, and I felt safe and well cared for under their supervision. Sydney Private Hospital is fortunate to have such dedicated and skilled nurses. Thank you, Chris, Anthony, and Brenden, for your excellent care and support."
