"I went there through a referral. First, I made a reservation by phone. "Is this really a referral letter addressed to our hospital?" It was excessive. I can imagine that there are several facilities with similar names in the vicinity, and that there have been many problems in the past, such as patients having unpleasant experiences or staff having extra work, but I was very disappointed by the skeptical tone and the way they spoke to someone who didn't understand. I went there hoping to be cured, but in the end, I was told to change my primary specialty and return to a local hospital. I was immediately urged to [search for a hospital with that specialty on Google (on my smartphone)]. While I used gentle language, it actually felt much harsher. Even if the doctor wasn't familiar with the area, to make a patient do the research... It's impossible for a layperson to find a reliable medical institution, including treatment records and reviews, in such a short time. They handed me a bag to carry around at the end, without even a single "Take care," and just left. Truly disappointing. There are many other things I'd like to write, but I'll omit them to avoid compliance violations. You'll understand if you go."
"I had my wisdom tooth removed. At a nearby dental clinic, I was told, "It's buried in the gums, so it's difficult to extract. I'll write a referral to a university hospital, so please go there." I was shocked at how difficult it was to extract a tooth. I did as instructed, and received a thorough examination and explanation of my current condition. Perhaps the doctor had some free time in his schedule, he casually asked, "Are you going to extract it now?" Being a nervous wreck, I replied, "Eh, I have plans today..." On the day, I was prepared, and as you'd expect from an oral surgeon, the anesthesia didn't hurt at all! Where did the needle go? I didn't even feel it! At this point, I was completely at peace. The extraction was over in no time, and the tooth that was extracted was a beautiful, pure white because it was buried in the gums, unlike the yellow teeth I'm used to seeing. After the extraction, I felt some swelling and pain, but I figured it was inevitable since it was a tooth so far back, so I wore a mask to hide the swelling and went about my daily life."
"Knowledgeable and professional, they know exactly what their doing."
"This is the hospital of the oldest dental college in Japan, do I have to say more ?"
"A very bad experience; after receiving a referral from the clinic, I had my wisdom tooth extracted here. The service was almost non-existent. During the extraction, it felt as though the dentist (a female) was clearing her backyard with a shovel—her technique was extremely rough. In the midst of the procedure, she carelessly knocked off the towel covering my face, and all she managed to say was a perfunctory "sorry." The nurse beside her seemed like a mere decoration, with heavy makeup and a vacant gaze, as if my payment for the tooth extraction was an inconvenience for them. I regret not seeking another clinic for the procedure. As a foreigner with limited language proficiency, being treated in this manner has left me profoundly disappointed with Japan. An ironic detail I observed was the female dentist's pleasant attitude towards her male colleague while treating patients with utter disdain. I wonder what kind of healthcare system has led them to become so callous and indifferent towards patients?"
