"Went to the ER because I had a fish bone stuck at the back of my throat - the whole experience from reception, to the intake nurses, radiology and finally being seen by the ENT specialist was made pleasant. The team here was very warm and made me feel comfortable. Special mention to Dr. Xiao for her careful determination in freeing the bone stuck in my tonsil! She was very reassuring and informative. I'm incredibly grateful to all of you 🙏"

"I cannot begin to put into words how grateful I am for the care my father received at TGH through the cardio clinic. From the admin staff, to the volunteers, nurses, staff, surgeons, doctors- everyone was incredibly supportive, patient, empathetic and they truly made this life changing surgery for my father an incredible experience. We will be forever grateful for their support."

"went in with a respiratory issue was having trouble breathing was made to wait over 4 and a half hours and didn’t even see a doctor. was there until 3am this morning. i asked when the doctor would come and was told “i don’t know he’s the only doctor here”. all this money we pay in taxes we work our lives away get taxed by this joke of a government but god forbid i want to see a doctor. god forbid i want to access any service that my taxes pay for. this country is a joke and this health care system is an even bigger joke. was told to just go see my family doctor (who quit and i cannot find a new one because nobody is accepting patients) or go to a walk in clinic to get a referral that will take another 3 months. honestly would rather just suffer at home instead of waiting in some hospital just to get nothing. #1 hospital in canada? that is a scary thought. you’re telling me every hospital is worse than this? my mind is absolutely blown. go if you have no choice but good luck. you’ll end up funding big pharma with whatever useless over the counter nonsense they end up recommending. unbelievable. this experience alone has made me want to pack my stuff and move to a different country entirely. thankful that i am in good health otherwise, because the less you have to deal with this awful system the better."

"The wait times posted online are incredibly misleading. Initially went in thinking it would be a 2 hour wait and ended up staying 12+ hours. Half of this time was also essentially meaningless as I believe the ER doctor fully just clocked out and left, disappearing for 4+ hours at a time. Nurses also weren’t willing to transfer any of the records already taken so if I left all the time spent would wasted. The world ranking is really meaningless unless you’re going to see a specialist, avoid this ER if at all possible"

"December 4, 2025 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐ I visited Toronto General Hospital for an ENT appointment while the hospital is undergoing renovations. What I appreciated most was how clearly everything was labeled, without that, it would be very easy to get lost. The appointment itself went well. I was given helpful information to review and further testing was arranged. I’m hopeful this will lead to some answers and solutions."
