"This is one of the best University hospitals of Japan. All the doctors & staffs were very cordial & welcoming. You can even receive medical service with limited or no knowledge of Japanese Language. Though I had some troubles at the reception because of my poor Japanese speaking ability but my dentist supported me a lot. She even played Ed Sheeran’s songs to comfort me during dental surgery. I recommend this hospital to everyone who are in need of special/ advanced medical treatment. Don’t forget to bring a referral letter from your GP before attending this hospital’s OPD. Otherwise you would have to pay higher than usual."
"I was sent here by another doctor. I live and work in Japan and have Japanese health insurance. They rejected me because I don't speak Japanese. I'm shocked. I can't even believe this is legal. That a University Hospital can reject patients who have Japanese health insurance based on language. I've used Google translate at many doctors with no issues. And supposedly the best university in Japan, rejects non-Japanese speakers, and does't have doctor who speak Japanese. This has to be a joke."
"Service is good. Doctors are very kind. But hospital management should pay attention improving the billing system."
"I had a very high quality and complete treatment by endocrinologist specialist here, all the staff is kind and the laboratory is fast. All the medical area works very well, but the only point to improve is that the payment system is extremely slow!! Please put more payment machines to improve the process, more than 1 hour to be able to use the payment machine, is too much time for a very automatized payment system..."
"I had to visit the University of Tokyo Hospital a couple of weeks ago during Sports Day. I went around 4 a.m. because of a sudden health issue that needed immediate attention. Despite it being a holiday and very early in the morning, the staff provided incredible care. Everyone was so patient and kind, even though I don’t speak Japanese (I live in the US). They did everything possible to communicate — using translators, gestures, and genuine effort to make sure I understood what was happening. The doctor who treated me was extremely professional, compassionate, and thorough. He went above and beyond to ensure I received the right treatment for my situation. I’m deeply grateful for the exceptional care I received. Thank you to the entire team for their dedication and kindness. I couldn’t have asked for better care during a difficult moment away from home."
