"After having gastric bypass procedure in 2002, I began to have cosmetic procedures to get rid of all of the loose skin and feeling deflated. Years ago in 2002\2003 a client in my salon who has a very well-known plastic surgeon that only does from the neck up highly recommended his partner to do my reconstructive surgeries. I was never thrilled with the results but I thought it was better than it was. His work was horrific and I didn’t realize how bad it was until I spoke to other cosmetic surgeons. I spent the last 20 years with the worst body dysmorphia and never looked in the mirror other than my face(As a hairstylist I stood in front of the mirror every day, all day and did not want to see my reflection). I wouldn’t dare be seen in public in a bathing suit because my arm/thighs were disgusting even after I had paid dearly for them to get rid of the loose skin. Then paid again for more reconstructive cosmetic work in Texas to begin to revise his botched work on me right before the pandemic. The doctors at Up Clinic are hands-down amazing, professional, beyond knowledgeable, and offered many solutions to make sure you get the best possible results! The staff flew to Sao Miguel to perform my procedures here at our beautiful new private hospital HIA, so I could recover in my home! Now when I look in the mirror I don’t even know who is looking back at me. I’m still swollen and just about six weeks since my surgery. I am waiting for the swelling to go down and to actually see how perfect my body is because perfectionists at Up Clinic! The medical standards here in Portugal are so much better than in the USA where I had my surgeries done. They offered complete genuine care, professionalism, concern, and were so gentle with me right down to removing the stitches. My comfort and giving me best results was all they cared about!!! Being a hairstylist for 35 years people always come to me and ask me for advice/recommendations for so many different businesses, spa services, cosmetic surgeons/doctors, lawyers, contractors, vets, etc. I would have clients mention that they wanted to go out of the country to Costa Rica or Mexico for surgery because it was cheaper. I would beg them out of it because it is their body and you don’t want cheap you want perfect! I freaked out and I convinced him that is the stupidest idea and you don’t know anything about the doctor, how clean the operating room is, how educated the doctors are, much the sterilization of surgical tools and equipment!! Now..I will tell all of my guests, friends, acquaintances… They need to come to Portugal and schedule a consultation with a doctor from UP Clinic. UP Clinic is the place to have any kind of cosmetic procedure done(and they offer so much more then most). Only the best of doctors work there and you will be over the moon with the doctors, staff and results!! I was even able to do a virtual consultation with the doctor and I didn’t have to leave my home for that(I did end up going to the clinic as well for in person consultation). They are hands-down amazing and definitely the best surgeons in all of the EU! The doctors, surgical team and staff changed my life forever and I love you for allowing me me love who I see in the mirror!!! From the bottom of my heart I LOVE YOU!!!!😍☺️MUITO OBRIGADA!!!!"

"After a good experience with a small revision surgery with dr. Rui Lima I decided to make an appointment for a Co2 laser treatment to address the scar. This time I waited for over an hour just to be presented with a “treatment plan”. I was asked to take numerous photos and even 3D face scans against my will, in a rather paternalistic and intrusive manner. I had to go up and down the stairs four times between different rooms. In the end, I was charged 70 € for a “consultation” that was nothing more than a two-minute chat with a doctor. Very disappointing experience — expensive, disorganized and condescending."
