"As i dont speak any korean there was an interpreter who followed me throughout my consultation to do translation, the physiotherapist is also very good here she has a lot of expertise, I learnt a lot of exercises for my spine injury!"
"Moved to Korea from the US. After 5 years of successful pain management treatments I saw Dr. Cheh at Wooridul. I informed him I had facet injections and they had become ineffective. After a quick consultation he recommended injection therapy and a follow up in a week. After a week my pain had intisified. He told me he couldn’t treat me and to take Tylenol. Drove 2.5 hours for a 5 minute follow up saying they did all they could do. Will be seeking an alternative treatment hospital."
"Shortly after arriving in Seoul, I herniated my lumbar disc. It was extremely painful and left me barely able to walk. Thankfully, Dr. Han Joong Keum was able to see me. After operating on me I was able to walk out pain-free the very next day. I am extremely grateful to the doctors and staff who looked after me and to Jade, the translator assisted me throughout the entire process. I highly recommend this hospital to anyone experiencing spine-related issues."
"Mixed experience. Overall, I believe this is a skilled hospital, especially for serious cases where the problem is clear and urgent. However, my experience with a more complex spine/disc issue was disappointing. The doctor saw three injured discs on the images, but when I explained that previously only one disc had been the main problem, it was treated as “very normal.” I was given the same medication I had already used for the past two years, and the next plan was mainly physiotherapy and stretching. During physiotherapy, the translator kept talking to the physiotherapist, and at times it felt like the treatment was not very focused. I also had the impression that there was not much communication between the doctor and the physiotherapist. Later I was told that the doctor did not want to do anything further. My feeling is that this hospital may be very good if you have an obvious emergency or cannot move at all. But for connected or more complicated problems, I did not feel I received the high-level, coordinated support I expected. As a foreign patient, I may prefer to look elsewhere next time. Also, the hospital environment was not always comfortable, with some visitors foreigners speaking loudly on their phones for a long time."
"For more than 10 years, I lived with cervical spine pain. I consulted highly respected spine specialists in Mongolia, Japan, South Korea, and Thailand — all true professionals. The diagnosis was consistent among them, which gave me clarity about the problem. However, due to the multi-level nature of my condition and specific complexities, the proposed surgical solutions differed. Choosing the right long-term strategy required years of careful consideration. At Wooridul Hospital, I finally found confidence with Dr. Junseok Bae, a globally recognised spine specialist. His structured explanation and balanced surgical plan — artificial disc replacement at C5–C6 and C6–C7 combined with posterior endoscopic foraminotomy at C7–T1 — reassured me that both immediate symptom relief and long-term mobility were being thoughtfully prioritised. The hospital is modern and highly specialised, and the nursing staff were attentive and supportive throughout my recovery. Post-operative monitoring was careful and consistent, giving me reassurance during a critical period. Most of the time, I had no difficulty communicating with the nursing personnel. The Western meal portions were larger than I preferred, so I chose Korean meals instead. I am especially grateful to Jade, the English-speaking coordinator, whose professionalism and warmth made communication clear and smooth at every stage — and who has continued to support me even now, 12 weeks post-operation. After more than a decade of searching, I feel confident that I made the right decision for my long-term health."
